Still like the team but we’ve lost to the two best teams we’ve played and neither of them are exactly elite clubs. Be interesting to see how the weekend goes.

Listening to the Varsity broadcast it sounded like a completely uninspired performance for much of the game. Almost “Sunday Softball-esque.” Glad for the late push but too little too late. Not the tuneup I was hoping for heading into conference play.

Alabama baseball's late comeback came up just short in the Crimson Tide's 9-7 loss to Southern Miss on Tuesday evening at Pete Taylor Park. Following the midweek, the 13th-ranked Tide is now 15-2 on the season.
Southern Miss gained a four-run advantage after two innings before Bryce Eblin got the Tide on the board in the third with a solo homer. The Golden Eagles added one more in the fifth before a solo shot from Evan Sleight made it a 5-2 affair. Southern Miss came right back with two in the home half of the sixth and another two in the seventh to set the score at 9-2 headed to the ninth.
The Alabama ninth saw Eblin and Gage Miller each reach to start the frame. One out later, a single loaded the bases before a Sleight triple cleared them. Kade Snell homered in the next at-bat to cut the lead to two before a Mac Guscette single forced a USM pitching change. The new arm was able to get out of the jam with a groundout and a lineout ending things at 9-7 in favor of Southern Miss.
Colby Allen (2-0) picked up the win with Kros Silvey securing his first save of the season for the Golden Eagles. Zane Adams (1-1) suffered the loss.

"The fight was there; we competed our tails off. We just didn't make enough plays against a good team in a hostile environment on the road. Our two losses this year are to two teams who are going to play in the postseason and maybe host, and the effort from our guys has been there in both. We brought the tying run to the ninth in both games, and with a 9-2 lead in the ninth here, that's tough to do. So, I was proud of the fight, we just didn't execute enough early."

I was confident about pitching and concerned about hitting coming into the year. It has been the opposite of what I expected. We seem to have a pretty deep lineup, although I’m not sure about the order, but there aren’t many arms I am confident in.This weekend will be interesting.

Hopefully getting Banks back will be a boon for us, but he really probably won't be ready to cut it loose for at least a couple more weeks. Losing Quick hurt.

Alabama baseball will officially open Southeastern Conference play this weekend as the 12th-ranked Crimson Tide hosts the sixth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The opener on Friday is set for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch followed by a 7 p.m. start on Saturday and a 1 p.m. open in the series finale. Game one of the series will air on SEC Network+ with the final two matchups receiving national attention on SEC Network.
The series will feature numerous promotions at The Joe as Alabama opens conference play. The theme for this weekend will be 'SEC Opening Weekend at The Joe' with the Right Field Terrace open to all fans for each of the three games with the Vols.
Sunday's series finale will feature free Alabama baseball Saint Patrick's Day T-shirts for fans. Game three will also begin 'Kids' Day at The Joe'. All kids 12-and-under can purchase a $5 general admission ticket. Children will also have the chance to run the bases postgame. Additionally, Sunday will be the Tide's first baseball card giveaway of the season. The giveaway part is part of a season-long promotion highlighting the 2024 roster. Kids can get their pack of cards and stay after the game to get autographs from the group of players featured on this Sunday's set of cards.

UT just crushed a monster HR nd now lead 3-2. top of 3. all runs are earned. Missing a lot this inning though. This may be it for him. Given up 5 walks.

"The story of tonight was AJ Causey, to be honest. We threw a good haymaker in the first inning, took some really good swings on balls overall, but that guy just attacks the strike zone with three different pitches and has a really tough arm slot. We took some really good swings off him in the first four or five innings, but they just made some plays on defense, and we put too many guys on for free tonight."
