Crimson Tide and Vols Meet as Alabama Baseball Hosts Sixth-Ranked Tennessee

Another top-25 opponent is set to travel to Tuscaloosa this weekend as Alabama baseball hosts sixth-ranked Tennessee for a three-game series at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide and Volunteers are set for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch on both Friday and Saturday with things wrapping up at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. The series opener will air on SEC Network+ with the final two matchups receiving national attention on SEC Network.

It’s worse than my early season assumption that it’s modern baseball analytics. We strike out too damn much. Period.

Strikeouts are no worse than any other kind of outs, but if you're going to truly embrace a 3 true outcomes approach to hitting you can't have dudes going up there and striking out on 4 pitches and becoming 2 outcomes hitters. Because that's just going to result in solo HRs and never making anyone's bullpen work.

That's true, but striking out with a man on 3rd and less than two outs is a killer.
