How are y'all feeling about the upcoming two game Red Sox series?
If we hit dingers like we did against Pittsburgh it'll be a fun series. If we don't it'll be really ugly for us.

Is SC bad or are we getting into our groove ?
Well they won 16 conference games and played Tennessee close last weekend.
Looks like their starting pitcher had only thrown 9 innings all year??? Am I reading that right? Bold strategy Cotton!
That’s all I got.

The team was so fun to watch in the late innings these last 3 years and even in 2017 they were fun late. This team just doesn’t have that same juice. We had like 10 extra inning games and have only been able to score that placed runner in 1 game. That’s pathetic.
Had a WS ready core and AA didn’t add the pieces necessary. Simple as that. I’ve been a Big Anti-Snit guy as far as his pitching choices but I can’t even get mad at him over this bullpen, he is choosing between shite and shite. Dude gave Smyly $11M off of 1 season (that was 60 games) when every other year he has sucked. That’s $11 M could have gotten 2 or 3 solid bullpen arms

These announcers are horrible! If you are so bored with the game that you have to invent something to talk about, get out of the business!

I'll give them a pass on Melancon. He was pretty much going to San Diego or retiring.
The real crime was not taking a single measure to improve the pen with the apparent expectation that all of the career years our relievers had last year would be repeated this year despite relief pitching being far and away the most volatile commodity in baseball.
Also, Manfred once again fricking with the baseball has hurt us really bad. Minnesota and the Yankees too. If your team is built around hitting HRs and the ball starts dying at the track you're in trouble. The Yankees have survived it because their pitching is so good, but their offense has been pretty bleh.

The idea that they left spring training thinking "yea, Nate Jones is a solid option" is..... incredible.
(Also he'll probably be great in LA because of course)

He came out of spring with a shite bench too and he is lucky as hell Heredia and Adrianza have overperformed.

Also lucky that Contreras has been so good after d'Arnaud went down. Because our other options were Alex Jackson and Jeff Mathis. Woof.

Sorry. I’ve thought about making a Braves season long thread but Idk if Saint and Boz want something like that crowding the board.

Been a Braves since I was young, but I have fallen off over the years. I am really excited about getting to go to a game next week. Flying in town for work on the 3rd and catching the 12:30 game.

Jackson Tate with a web gem to finish it off
Guffey goes 7-8-9 scoreless.
We show our first sign of life in weeks.
LFG!

Nice opening day tournament win for the TIDE, getting to the 30 win plateau.
As for the BRAVES, should be entertaining match-up with the RED SOX.
Lots of power on both sides.
Morton's been up & down so far. He does however, sport a 6-1 career record against BOSTON.
Panda Bear at the DH spot tonight.
Also, BRAVES season thread would be a great addition.
