A grand slam with 2 outs in the 8th tied it up, as well as a 3 run homer before that in the same inning. Oof. Of course it’s LSU so I don’t mind it one bit, but oof.

I can’t believe I flipped it over to UT/aTm in the 7th. Thought that game was over. Apparently the ump missed a strike 3 call right down the middle that lead to the grand slam. Mainieri was ejected. He really might be toast after this one. They won the series but that is a game you cannot lose given their current situation.

Totally agree. They screw up their next hire and they'll be going 12-18 on a regular basis. Bianco's teams gag but he signs elite classes every year. That's not just a given there.

I looked at Bianco’s conference record history. It’s surprising. Only a couple of sub .500 years. He took over in 2001. A very different SEC. But still amazing.

Their consistency is incredibly impressive - and it's also the thing that frustrates them so much with limited postseason success.
As a fan I completely get it, but we as a fan base also know where that sort of "grass is greener" thought process can lead.

I know it’s not exactly apples to apples, but I could totally copy some of these posts into the softball thread and replace the coaches with Murphy and the teams with Bama.

Not sure it will work but UA tweeted out this live stats link a short while ago... not sure if you should click Bama or UK (but easy enough to try both). Let’s get this series! Roll Tide!

Does anyone know the reason behind Rose over Jackson Tate? Rose really struggles with the bat. Is the defense that much better?

quote:He leads the outfield in catches (58-18 over Tate). His batting is a glaring weakness but he’s starting to make some contact. My guess (and it’s just a guess) - given his defensive play and his speed, Coach Bo is hoping with additional at bats, his hitting will improve and he will become an offensive and defensive weapon. Having said that, I would be surprised to see him start the second game today. (Guessing Tate or Pinckney in game two)
Does anyone know the reason behind Rose over Jackson Tate?
One additional thought: Hamiter pulled his oblique throwing the ball which, per Coach Bo, is why he came back hitting sooner than he did playing outfield. If you notice, he typically tosses to another player to throw the ball in. His bat is too valuable to not have in the lineup. Caden helps him cover right centerfield and will often run over to be the cutoff man for him.

the UK pitcher is throwing lights out.OUr batters look like middle school batters right now. after 2 innings no base runners and only 17 pitchers.
Our pitcher threw more then 17 in just one inning.

I was nervous we were gonna do the thing where we score all our runs for the series in game one... I really hope that’s not the case.
