Allowing college football players to speak a good start to increasing their value ByJoseph Goodman| jgoodman@al.com
I personally do not read much from the guy on Al.Com... and having scanned this article he is seemingly indicating that Coach should now allow freshmen to talk to the media (hmmm seems this would serve to make his reporting easier? and would mostly benefit he and his ilk)
I know that Bama has a long standing policy that freshment do not talk to media until the championship games as mandated by the Ncaass. And also know that they have media specialists who work with the team throughout the year to assist them in getting ready for the press and the barrage of idiocy that spewed in their direction. And I would counter this idiot with the fact that allowing 18 yo's to answer questions from the press when they have just arrived and really are nothing more than high school kids would not accomplish this in most cases. Image some reporter with a bone to pick with Bama traps a fresh faced young man in a position that makes Bama looking terrible... he now looks like an idiot and this may create less value and even be something he cannot over come.
I believe in the freshman ban until they can get a grasp on the program, the process and have received some training on how to respond to reporters.
I linked the article I will not copy and paste claptrap

Joseph Goodman is a hack that has an axe to grind with Coach Saban along with trying to advance his own career. It's been apparent for years now.

No offense to OP, but I'd encourage everyone not to follow the link. You can hate on a sorry hack like Goodman without giving him any clicks.

Everything Goodman writes is gutter drivel. At an organization dominated by agenda driven hacks, he somehow manages to stand out as worse than the rest.
See a sports headline that reads like a controversy there, it's going to be Goodman. Don't do him the service of giving a click.

Goodman is just a click bait, hot take artist, not an actual sports reporter. And he’s not even that good at it.
