Unfortunately the SEC CG is about to become as irrelevant as the baseball and basketball SECCG.

It will be pretty damn relevant if LSU slips in, wins the game, and ends up in the playoffs as a result. It doesn't get more relevant than that.

Its relevancy has changed. The new format basically means if you go to Atlanta, you’d better win.

Winner gets a bye (nice, but more of a trade off for playing an extra game in conf championship imo)

Loser quite possibly misses playoffs if it’s their 3rd loss, but at the very least gets “punished” with up to 3 playoff games. That’s at least 1 more than conf winner, or any teams that skirted the CCG altogether but still got in.

It’s good to get into the CCG, but you’d better win. Not going to Atlanta also puts you at jeopardy if there are say 3-4 teams in your conf with identical conf records. You’re at the mercy of what appears to be a fairly illogical committee thus far

The SECCG in basketball is an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. In some years teams make the tournament solely based on that game.

Y’all are all high if you think a 3 loss SEC team is going to stay in the top 12 just because they played in a championship game.

When it happens I’ll bring y’all right back here.

If A&M beats Texas, then Texas is left out of the SECCG since their other conference opponents are arse

If the 3 loss team wins the game, they're probably going to the playoffs even if they aren't in the top 12.

'

No "probably" about it. They are contractually guaranteed to make the playoffs and get a first round bye.
