SEC probably mad about that basketball player and taking it out on football officiating
Nope.
SEC offices are mainly influenced by rocky top and UGA from the old SEC. Again, look at who was pushing for Lane Kiffin and LSU to be punished. It wasn't Alabama with that juice, it was exposed as a rockytop-bulldawg initiative.
Look back at scheduling. Look back at officiating favors at home and it will all make sense.
Heck Auburn has as much influence as us in Birmingham

I missed that. Details?

AI - Tennessee and Georgia leadership were vocal opponents of LSU and Lane Kiffin during the 2026 eligibility crisis, though the pushback came from a desire to defend conference rules rather than personal vengeance.
The conflict erupted right before the season when Lane Kiffin and LSU attempted to roster former NFL players Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris. This followed a Louisiana court order that granted temporary eligibility to professional contract signees. The move directly defied newly established conference standards, prompting a unified front from the rest of the SEC.
Leaders from both schools took very strong public stances against LSU's actions:
• Tennessee: Chancellor Donde Plowman made it clear that the SEC would "not budge" on its rules prohibiting professional players from returning to college rosters. Furthermore, former Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton publicly criticized Kiffin, contrasting LSU's "any publicity is good publicity" mindset with Tennessee's strict compliance regarding its own player eligibility denials.
• Georgia: University President Jere Morehead issued a stern warning emphasizing that "SEC membership comes with shared rules and shared responsibilities" and that "there are consequences when we do not honor our rules." Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr also urged the SEC to take significant disciplinary action against LSU

It won't end in Tenn. It should continue through the season.............It kills me to say this but that loss may do more good for us in the long term. It may instill more anger and motivation in this team. If we had won, the rat poison for Russell and us would have been boiling over into insanity levels. Russell was fixing to jump to the top of the Heisman list and honestly he isn't there yet.......This team still has to improve for a NC run in the playoffs.
Sometimes - you wake up, read something, and it's like looking in the mirror.

I’m pretty sure that Dixie’s Football Pride holds a lot of sway with the SEC offices. We may not be out front, but behind the scenes…

Is the same crew in Knoxville who called the BAMA/Uga game?

You don't normally get the same crew twice in a regular season and surely not back to back, but we won't know until 2 hrs before kickoff.
Autrey's crew is worse. They are the ones that shafted us at 10rc in 2022.
One other crew with a white hat that just moved to the SEC sucks really bad, but we may have had him vs another team already.

I hope but we have lots of injuries and a first year QB at Tennessee. When healthy Bama is the better team no question but tgat DT of theirs is either going against an injured Delgatty or first time starter at center Matt Waldrop. This isn’t going to be the blow out we hope for.
