Savannah was on the team last year so Skylar didn’t ‘walk’ because of her. Bailey Dowling took second base and Claire returned at short stop and reportedly Skylar didn’t want to move to a different position so she left. Savannah is starting because Bailey got hurt and Skylar chose to leave.

I think woodward has a lot higher BA the a number of players on the team. Certainly better then our starting SS before she got hurt.
she is at 288 which is significantly higher then the 3b.

Exactly. Skylar was a more than competent infielder and a pretty good bat. So instead of finding a place for her that she was happy with, Murphy tries to move her to where she doesn’t want to play so she leaves. I’m all about the team is bigger than the player, but it seems to me Wallace had earned the right to play where she wanted to play with a couple of good seasons under her belt. Maybe someone else should have been asked to move. We sure could use Skylar’s offense now, not to mention her glove. The situation was poorly handled.

Lexi Kilfoyl Named Top 30 Finalist for 2021 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division 1 National Freshman of the Year
Alabama's Lexi Kilfoyl was named one of 30 finalists by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2021 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division National Freshman of the Year award, announced Thursday.
With the cancellation of last year's season, this year's finalist list consists of both 2020 and 2021 freshmen. Kilfoyl is one of six finalists from the Southeastern Conference, the most of any conference followed closely with five from the Pac-12. The list will be narrowed to a top 10 on May 13 and a top three on May 27 before the winner is announced prior to the Women's College World Series. Montana Fouts and Alexis Osorio were previously top three finalists in 2019 and 2015, respectively.

Not completely following this article, but I’m guessing that the NCAA thinks the top 16 seeds will come from among these 20 teams. Bama is on the list as a potential host site (no surprise).

Fouts pitched all 7 innings for the win. A 3-run HR by Tow and an RBI single by, hold on to your hat, Maddie Morgan produced the 4-1 victory. Bama is now 37-7.
