Beat ECU 9-1 earlier today and currently up 9-0 on GA Tech.

Are we actually going to be half way good on offense this year or have we not faced a pitcher with a pulse?

We’ll face better pitching in conference for sure but it looks like we can swing it a little bit this year

It’s early and there’s a long way to go, but the ladies hit 18 home runs and outscored opponents 51-6 across 5 games in this tournament. Couldn’t ask for a much better start to the season. Bama hosts the Easton Bama Bash starting on Friday.

We have a number 1 pitcher and her name is Vic. She is 3-0.

Great start for the ladies!

Guess we should have completed the sweep 69-0 to make some in here happy

Nope. I'm very happy with the results. I just want us to continue the offensive output into SEC play instead of regressing to the norm of Murph trying to ride a dominant pitcher until her arm falls off and scraping 2-3 runs per game. I'll be the first to eat crow if Murph changes his philosophy to include power hitting like every other elite team.

Duch is batting around 222. I dont recall what her BA was last year but against the Villanova's of the world is when you should be lighting it up. Great start.

Does anyone know if GA tech is going to be a contender for the ACC. I was unable to watch any of the games on my streaming app.

A stellar opening weekend from Alabama freshman pitcher Vic Moten has earned her national recognition as D1 Softball's National Freshman of the Week and Softball America's Freshman Star of the Week.

The Daphne, Ala., native got the start in last Thursday's season opener for the Crimson Tide against Villanova at the Buzz Classic in Atlanta, Ga., throwing 3.0 innings as part of a five-inning combined no-hitter with sophomore Braya Hodges in relief. Moten struck out six Wildcat batters and allowed just one baserunner via a walk.

She got two more wins in a pair of 6.0 inning starts against tournament host Georgia Tech, striking out seven on Friday as part of a two-hit shutout while allowing just two runs in the first inning of Saturday's rematch, fanning six.

In total on the weekend Moten boasted a 0.93 ERA over 15.0 innings pitched with 19 strikeouts.
