Mac had a bad INT...gee, guess Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady never threw bad INTs. It sounds like the players are getting pissed at how Mac is being treated...beyond Meyer's comments. The Patriots are treating Mac like Flores treated Tua in Miami his first two seasons. I think Mac earned some credibility last season and though he shouldn't act entitled (and hasn't publicly) he's earned a measure of respect he hasn't been given. In 2020 Belichick constantly was saying Cam Newton was their starting QB no matter how he played, so it's not like he's never publicly supported a QB like that.

This is such a bad look for BB and the Patriots. Not only is Mac your first round, starting QB, but also a team captain.
I don’t believe this is Mac’s ceiling. Might be another situation like Tua and Flores.
There was some speculation on a Pats forum, that Zappe is the guy for the two OCs and they are “sabotaging” Mac by calling different plays for each.
The OCs could have pressured BB into making the switch and given the atmosphere he went along.
Did Mac return too soon from his injury? He sees Zappe winning and getting momentum, figures he needs to get in the game and secure his job.
Mac is tough and has gone through adversity before, he’ll be fine, but I hope he gets out of NE. Bill’s time is up.

Mac has been doubted nearly his entire time in the spotlight:
- Headed into 2020, many fans expected Bryce to get the starting nod
- Any other QB would have walked away with the Heisman in 2020, but there were a lot of media talking heads who refused to give him his proper credit.
**That is not to say Devonta didn't deserve it, but in 2018 and 2019 not a single WR was in the top 10 of Heisman voting despite some insane numbers from CeeDee Lamb and Ja'Marr Chase
- He was talked about as the 49ers choice at 3 in the draft, but again a lot of talking heads didn't think he was good enough to warrant the pick.
-Now, a year after leading his team to the playoffs he is getting doubted again
His number one trait is his arrogant confidence in his ability to play despite the doubters. You can see the fire he has despite the media's insistence on portraying him as some goofy, smiles-all-the-time shrinking violet. He will absolutely make NE pay if they give up on him, or win them multiple championships if they make the right choice and support him.

Didn’t it start even before 2020?
Wasn’t he kind of balling out in the camp circuits in high school only to be an afterthought compared to the top guys? Often going head to head with them at these things?
Then he sits for YEARS at Alabama knowing when he got his chance he’d be a beast?
I have zero doubt he’ll be perfectly fine moving forward but my goodness Bill fricked this up SO much. Just start Zappe. Would have been no big deal at all. If he messed up you can slide Mac back in.
But after starting Mac you have to give him a full half at least. Probably the entire game. Not 2 fricking series.

Supposedly Mac is starting Sunday. Of course, it's the Jets who actually have probably one of the best defenses in the NFL. Probably good it's on the road considering the Pat's bitch arse fans.
Belichick makes Saban look warm and fuzzy in comparison. He's totally screwed this up. I mean, you can't publicly support your starting QB and team captain who is coming back from injury? Pitiful.

Bozeman isn't a Center/Guard for the ravens anymore?

Kenyan Drake has been good for the Ravens. He's a solid NFL journeyman, not quite a #1 guy that'll get a big contract, but good enough to adequately fill the need of a team needing a RB.

The Ravens have been fricking up leads since the season started
Don't have any confidence in them doing anything of note today
Sorry, Roll Tide Ravens

Julio Jones made a mistake going to Tampa. Makes it back on the field and hasn't even been targeted. He'd be the WR2 at worst if he'd gone to Green Bay instead. Granted, GB in December doesn't sound appealing lol...but at least he'd be getting targets.

GB wasn't looking for a splash trade/move for WR.
Instead of OBJ/Julio, they opted for Watkins (he's decent but not really a splash move)

Always been a mystery why Julio wasn't targeted more in the RedZone in Atlanta. 72 TDs for his career. Jerry Rice had like 198 or something...of course Rice is in a class of his own. His longevity at a high level allowed him to set career records that will never be broken...much like Brady at QB. I would like to see Julio have a mini-resurgence and crack the all time top 10 in receiving yards before he calls it a career.

If I was a betting man I'd bet this is his last year. Who would take a shot on him with his injury history?
Posted on 10/28/22 at 10:37 am to Chad4Bama
Julio has never really been a redzone guy, it's almost always a big play.
