Only Mercer (FCS-Playoffs), Wisconsin (5-7), and Auburn (5-7) did not make a bowl.

Pretty surprising how it all shook out

The same team number 1 Oregon narrowly defeated.

Mercer would beat quite a few FBS teams. You put them in the Big Ten and they finish with a winning conference record if they draw Purdue, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers, and Northwestern.

I always wonder if you had dropped peak Saban era Bama in the Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, or PAC 12, what kind of winning streak do we see? 50 regular season wins? 100?

So if the CFP poll resembles the AP poll, Bama should be in if SMU beats Clemson, right?

It would appear so. Ole Miss & South Carolina will be at home like us so doubtful they would jump ahead. Big 12 will only get one team in. Boise is locked. B1G championship game is meaningless for us.

Ole Miss has worse unranked losses than we do so I don’t think there’s a chance. South Carolina has played better, but Bama has too outside of the OU game. Clemson and Missouri will probably end up being their only ranked wins since A&M should fall out in the CFP poll as well.

Bama also pulls more viewers, but I’m just trying to see how the committee could screw us. A 21-point loss to OU doesn’t help us, but we did get screwed out of a momentum-shifting touchdown.
