“Not very impressive, they’re average. I don’t see the ability of creating holes and I know [in] a lot of today’s offense, that’s not exactly what you need to do, but you need to create some cut back lanes anyway and you don’t see that happening,” said Hannah.

quote:

Hannah did have some glowing things to say about Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs while talking about the offensive line....
“I’m very impressed with him and if the offensive line would create those gaps in the defensive front, he would be even more productive than he is now.”

I think they've been looking better the last two games. I'm also curious what talent was left for the new coach to work with this year...

Gibbs is clearly the second best player on the offense

Our best running game is running the stretch and letting Gibbs decide when to make his cut. Our OL isn’t moving people off the ball.

Imo, as a team's emphasis moves more to a passing game, run blocking starts to suffer.
I believe that Dlinemen know the instant after the ball's snapped whether the play will probably be a running or passing play (Olinemens' first move is a drop step when pass blocking). Knowing this allows the Dlinemen(and LBs) take their predetermined move into the backfield, or their cover area.
