It was a rough year for the guys. They needed to make it to match play in the SEC tournament to even be eligible for post season, which meant they needed to be in the top 8. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen - they finished 14th in the tournament.

quote:

With a head-to-head record of 46-45-1 on the season, the Crimson Tide will have some added pressure to keep its record at.500 or better in order to maintain eligibility for NCAA Regional play which will be held May 15-17. That means Alabama would need to advance to match play to be considered for NCAA postseason competition.

In a move that will make college golf coaches happy, the LPGA announces that amateurs must turn pro before they can enter Q-Series, the final stage of LPGA qualifying. That should cut down on the midseason defections for the top players.

Crimson Tide Women’s Golf Chases NCAA Championship Berth at Franklin Regional

Alabama will make its 16th straight regional appearance and its 23rd overall

The University of Alabama women's golf team will compete at the 2022 NCAA Women's Golf Regional in Franklin, Tenn., May 9-11. The regional championship, which will feature 12 teams, will take place at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course (par 72, 6,475 yards).

The event features free admission, and fans are encouraged to attend.

Alabama is the second seed in the field, which includes No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Oregon State, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 7 BYU, No. 8 Kent State, No. 9 UTSA, No. 10 Augusta, No. 11 Boston University and No. 12 Austin Peay.

UA has met five of the field's teams at least once this season, boasting a combined 12-4 record against Wake Forest, Texas A&M, Duke, Vanderbilt and Augusta in 2021-22. It will mark Alabama's first meeting with Oregon State, BYU, Kent State, USTA, Boston and Austin Peay.

The Crimson Tide will appear in its 16th consecutive regional under the helm of head coach Mic Potter and its 23rd overall. Alabama has played in an NCAA Regional every season under Potter (16) and has won four times during that stretch, all of which have come in the last decade (2011, 2013, 2017, 2018).

Alabama has played at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course once already this season, when it earned a runner-up finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship last September. The Crimson Tide lineup earned a 12-under-par 852 tournament total, its second lowest team score in 2021-22. It is also the site of the Crimson Tide's 2012 National Championship, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

FROM HEAD COACH MIC POTTER
"We are very excited to be back in Nashville, the site of our 2012 NCAA Championship. Our preparation has gone well, and we have a great history on this golf course, so I am looking forward to seeing what our girls can accomplish this week!"

Didn’t include the tweet since it has a bunch of graphics that translate to question marks (?????) on this platform, but will post the write up when RollTide.com publishes it. Polly Mack reeled off 10 straight birdies to help propel Bama into a first place tie after round 1 of the NCAA Regional in Franklin, TN. She’s also currently in first place.

Birdies Littered Crimson Tide’s Scorecard after NCAA Regional Second Round

The University of Alabama women's golf team is in second place after the second round at the 2022 Women's Golf Regional in Franklin, Tenn., Tuesday. The Crimson Tide turned in a 1-under-par 287, which mirrors Monday's score, and is five shots off the lead ahead of the final round at Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course (par 72, 6,450 yards).

Alabama took the outright lead for most of the day, but host Vanderbilt used its home-course advantage to find an edge down the stretch. The No. 6-seeded Commodores sit atop the leaderboard on a 7-under-par 569 tournament total. No. 4 Duke is in third place at 2-over-par 578, while No. 1 Wake Forest is in fourth place at 3-over-par 579.

There is a five-shot difference between fourth and fifth place, while the top four teams at the end of the tournament will improve to the NCAA Championship.

Just one day after firing off 10 birdies for a first-round 65, Polly Mack remains in contention on the individual leaderboard. She finds herself in second place, just three shots back from leader Jennie Park of Texas A&M. The senior rallied a 1-over-par 73 in the second round, narrowly dipping into the seven-under tournament total she had to start the day.

Benedetta Moresco flirted with the top three throughout the day, concluding the second round with a 4-under-par 68 and tied for sixth place. The sophomore found seven birdies on the course, including four on the front nine and three on the back nine. She was six under on the day, before recording a double bogey on the par-4 No. 15. However, Moresco followed that up with three straight pars, helping herself to a 3-under-par 141 tournament total ahead of the final round.

Polly Mack Crowned NCAA Franklin Regional Champion, Alabama Advances to 2022 NCAA Championship

Polly Mack fired off 20 birdies through 54 holes this week, en route to being crowned the 2022 NCAA Franklin Regional Champion in Franklin, Tenn., Wednesday. Meanwhile, the University of Alabama women's golf team turned in a 6-under-par 282 in the final round, its best round of the tournament, for an 8-under-par 856 tournament total to finish runner-up and punch its ticket to the big dance.

The Crimson Tide has earned 16 all-time NCAA Championship berths and 15 under head coach Mic Potter.

Twelve teams competed at the NCAA Regional at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course (par 72, 6,450 yards) in Franklin, Tenn., this week. Hosts and sixth-seeded Vanderbilt came out on top thanks to a 16-under-par 848 tournament total, followed by second-seeded Alabama who came in second place with an 8-under-par 856. Rounding out the four Franklin regional teams that advanced to the national stage are No. 1 seed Wake Forest in third place (3-under-par 861) and No. 3 seed Texas A&M in fourth place (3-over-par 867).

In a field that featured 66 players, including four players ranked in the Golfstat Top 15, Mack turned in the lowest tournament total by an impressive four strokes. The senior recorded rounds of 65, 73 and 66 to produce a 12-under-par tournament total to top the leaderboard.

The graduate is arguably playing the best golf of her career, and her performance this week solidified that. Mack, who is ranked No. 7 in the nation according to Golfstat, led the tournament in par-4 scoring, par-5 scoring and birdies. That, and her 10 birdies Monday, which included seven straight to walk off the course, helped her record two of the lowest rounds in her career with her first-round 65 and her final-round 66.

It marks Mack's second medalist honor this spring, while she is the first Crimson Tide player to win an NCAA Regional since Stephanie Meadow did so in 2013.

Alabama had not one, but two players finish inside the top five in Franklin, the site of the Crimson Tide's 2012 National Championship.

Benedetta Moresco tied for fourth place on a 5-under-par 211 overall score. The sophomore was one over after Monday, but she responded with a 68 in the second round and a 70 in the final round to improve 15 spots on the individual leaderboard over the course of the tournament.

It marked her third finish inside the top five this season.

The Crimson Tide will compete at the 2022 NCAA Women's Golf Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club Raptor Course in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 20-25.

JT's Sunscreen Line of Products
quote:

For a kid from Kentucky, I’ve achieved some pretty amazing things before the age of 30: multiple PGA victories, a FedEx Cup championship, and representing the USA in the 2020 Olympics, to name a few.

But these achievements have something in common besides being a source of pride—they all took place under the sun.

As a young athlete, I didn’t take sun exposure seriously. And in 2019, my dermatologist discovered a small mole on my leg in the early stages of melanoma.

I’m a fierce competitor, but I realized I was no match for those harmful rays. Fortunately, the cancer was caught in time and surgically removed. But not everyone is so lucky.

Knowing how close I was to a life-threatening situation was a real wake-up call for me. That’s why I decided to launch WearSPF, make a message on a bottle to wear sunscreen, and encourage everyone to GO GET CHECKED. Do it for yourself and the ones you love. You’ve got nothing to lose, and possibly everything to gain.

It’s time to raise your sun protection game.
