Why?

Have you watched his film?

He looks pretty dynamic to me.

We are adding low to no cost bodies as we try to keep the ones we have - it’s that simple. Hoping to pick off anyone from the 4 final schools we might can use.

Neither of our two starting RB's from 2024 would start or even be 2nd at ND, Texas, PSU, or OSU.

Hope this guy has some pop in him.

Really under valuing Jam Miller here.

I like Jam but it is hard to argue he'd be ahead of the top 2 in the rotation at any of those schools. Maybe Texas.

On the other hand ND/PSU/OSU have elite RB rooms right now, so it isn't a huge slight.

Texas also was affected by injuries at tailback. I believe they lost their starter, their 5-star signee tailback, and another depth guy.

I imagine that Jam would be 3rd on the depth chart at best if Texas had their desired compliment on the roster instead of the back bench.

Jam Miller may be a good back but he didn't really get enough opportunities nor seized ones he had to show it in 2024.

Kinda like this guy (Dre’Lyn)…he’s kinda built like Mark Ingram & has the same running style, makes a nice first cut and gets vertical.

I guess, but he's been the best RB at Bama for two years straight. Hard to believe a #1 RB at Bama couldn't crack the two-deep at those schools mentioned.

Hopefully Jam can show out when he doesn't have a QB stealing his carries or having him mistakenly keep it when there's a wall of defenders waiting.

I want to see Jam, and the entire offense really, outside of the Jalen magnetic field, before I make too many conclusions.

Yeah, I do too.

He's had some nagging injury issues the last two years which limited his production, but he still averaged 6 yards a carry.

I think he's a good player and I'm happy to have him back next season. It's also worth noting it's likely only 1-2 of the players on those 3 teams will be back next year whereas Jam will. Which is kind of a general feature of what our roster will look like next year compared to a lot of the other Top 15 teams. We had guys who were maybe slightly behind or right with guys on other teams at their positions, but those guys are all leaving and ours are returning.

I think Jam is giving you everything he has on most every carry. He is just not elite.

I would love to see all our backs as a group run a 20 yard sprint.

The lack of any home run ability (at least based on stats/production) since Gibbs left is pretty wild. Feels like you can count on one hand the number of breakaway runs against good defenses the last few years.

Not sure who is the person responsible for fine tuning Gibbs as far has speed upgrade since he was at Bama, but salute to that cat.

The wall of defenders is the biggest issue.

With a competent passing game it would open up the run game significantly. Instead because they’re sitting on Milroe running the ball if we do happen to hand it off they’re in the lanes waiting and we get stuffed.

Healthy offenses are complementary like infantry and artillery. The sum is greater than the individual parts.

Dysfunctional offenses and QB play in particular result in each individual piece being less than what they would be otherwise.

Idk man...just not they type of pickup an elite team usually goes for. He may look dynamic in some of those games but those defenders aren't SEC defenders! Hopefully, he proves me wrong but I'm just not impressed with that pickup.

The guy has definitely flashed in his career. Pretty decent speed and built like fire hydrant. If nothing else, I bet this guy can/will get that first down we desperately needed on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1, when Justice Haynes would dance around or try to run laterally and get tackled for no gain or a loss.

So, he could be kind of a niche RB.
