The OL should give you the good pants feel. I’m telling you this group is freaking elite. The offense is just stacked. This has the making of Oklahoma type numbers.

If anyone cares about the MDB...they sound great, the brass section is amazing this year. They're performing a tribute to #17. Just a few more tidbits: apparently Louisville's band used our Orlando trip as leverage to get funded for the Camping World Kickoff. And UCF called and offered their practice field for gameday rehearsal...as of now the MDB hasn't taken them up on it.

Guarantee Mekhi Brown is kicking himself for dipping out. He'd be sitting pretty in the OLB rotation for sure with Lewis and Allen being gone for the season. Just keep it cool.

This is so frequently true. Was true for the RB that transferred to auburn, and multiple other RBs who were afraid to compete with Henry. He got injured very soon after that Exodus. Barnett tucked tail too soon. Sheffield would have been needed very soon after he left.
Patience is usually a virtue.

Looking at John Doe's most recent video brought up an interesting point. The sack Barnett tool was brutal, it rattled him because it slightly concussed him. There are was no way he would have been able to perform at a high level the rest of that game. Saban didn't handle that situation well, neither did Barnett's dad.

I still would like to know why he was dead set on leaving. Especially since he said he had a good relationship with the staff and Saban asked him to stay. I'm assuming he wants to start but he was due for solid playing time this year.

I agree with you 100%. I made a post earlier this year about this. If BB8 stays he is probably called in the National Title game if not earlier. We needed Sheffield but honestly I think he had trouble learning the system.

quote:A variety of reasons I would imagine. Actually being in it and seeing how much is asked of you on and off the field can be overwhelming. Some kids don't want to have to live their lives with that amount of discipline that it takes to be apart of the program. Some want to do the minimum and expect the maximum, Bama doesn't work that way.

Rumor at the time was that he had a hard time fitting in with the team and making friends. Overbearing parents didn't help.

Well, I think he had thought he had lost the job, and there was a very narrow window of opportunity to go Juco and graduate "within a year" and be eligible at a P5 school the very next year. I think he jumped ship so fast to take advantage of that loophole. If he had waited another week, I think he'd have missed it.

I think you are talking about BB8 here while I was referencing Menkhi Brown. I could be wrong though.

Barnett couldn't win the job at 7-6 Arizona State and is now on his 3rd team. He was never going to get called at Alabama.

Barnett has been named the starting quarterback at USF this season. Barnett transferred to USF after previously playing at Alabama (2015-16) and Arizona State (2017).
Barnett joined USF as a graduate transfer in May after earning a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State earlier this year. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Not the road he imagined im sure, but still has a chance to have a good ending to his college career.
