Bo took an unofficial visit to Miami while he was down in Florida taking a test.

Report: Jacob Coker commits to Alabama

Alabama may have lost a commitment this weekend from a five-star 2015 quarterback, but they, as expected, gained one from a player at the position who could help them immediately.

According to a report from BamaOnline.com, Jacob Coker committed to the Tide this weekend. Coker informed head coach Nick Saban of his decision Saturday, the website reported.

Coker also met with Lane Kiffin, with the website writing that the redshirt sophomore was “very impressed” with the new UA offensive coordinator. In a sign of his level of commitment to and comfortability with the Tide, Coker stated that he will take no additional visits to other schools.

The same guy that switched his CB to USC for Josh Frazier, changed it to Arkansas today.

Markell Boston did not get an offer this weekend. He said it was mainly due to our numbers. Things could open up if we miss on someone else.

If Boston didn't get an offer, I'm assuming we feel good about Hump. Some poster on BOL claimed that TOS (I'm assuming rivals) was saying that many believe Hump to be FSU bound. Anyone have a rivals script to confirm? Are these credible posters or just asshats?

I saw that. I was starting to wonder if we were going to get a Foster/Liner/Yeldon type surprise this year.

That is flipping awesome. If he can win the job it will transition to cornwell nicely.

It was a vague message that basically said that he can't wait to see what recruit we get that AU is after. It's nothing earth shattering until you realize that he doesn't post just to post. When he posts he is usually referring to something. He predicted LSU would not go 545 on Jan 2.

I wouldn't put too much into that stuff. He has been wrong and right now he is being cryptic.

I agree. It could happen. But again we are talking about the college decision with high schoolers. I don't think it's as cut and dry as most think. For example I'm pretty sure we've had recruits tell our staff they are coming and were just trolling or something changed.

We are in it for five five star uncommitted recruits. Unlike LSU fans, I will be ecstatic if we go two for five.

Put plenty into what he said. I know who he is and who he knows, you won't find more credible info on any board than what he offers.

The only thing to keep in mind is that info changes as recruits minds change, and their minds do change a lot.

Free article:

quote:

“I told Coach Saban yesterday (Saturday) that I wanted to be part of his program. I didn’t get through my whole visit before I told him, because I knew I wanted to go there for a while and after meeting everyone, I knew I was going to play for Alabama,” Coker said.

“I met so many players and coaches. Brian Vogler was my host and he introduced me to a lot of guys and they all made me feel right at home. I know this is going to be a good experience and the right decision. “

quote:

It was interesting meeting coach Kiffin. I liked him right away and feel we had a good connection. He seems serious on TV and he’s so high profile I wondered what he would be like. But we got along right away. He is a very laid back and funny guy,” detailed Coker. "He told me to come in and compete and that it was going to be a fun time. He didn’t really push me, which I liked. He was just down to earth guy and I’m going to enjoy getting to know him better.

“We didn’t get too technical with the offense, but I heard enough to know he’s a great coach and I’m going to fit in just fine with what Alabama wants to do. They have so many weapons and just excited to be able to come in and hopefully contribute. ”

quote:

“We did the usual stuff you do on an official visit, but for me it was mostly seeing how I might fit in. I’m familiar with the Alabama program. All the players and coaches I met were excited I was there. Made me feel like I was already part of the team. I got to see and do so much, I’m still letting it all sit in but it was a great visit and I know Alabama is where I need to be. And I’m looking forward to getting there as soon as I graduate.”
