Credit to Trey on the SECRb for sniffing this out 1st on the DBMB
DBMB strikes again:
AL.com article - Evans will visit UCLA
They are selling him playing offense as Wildcat QB and WR
said DC meeting went very well
Doesn't sound good

quote:
"It was a great visit with Coach Mora," Evans' father Alan Evans said. "Coach Mora said he feels Rashaan could come in and compete for the starting job vacated by Anthony Barr from day one. He said Rashaan was a dynamic player that could come in and take over the Pac-12."
Earlier in the day, Evans and his family met with UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, who told Evans the Bruins would also like to give the Auburn High standout a look at playing on offense as both a wildcat quarterback and receiver. Evans' father said the day of visits with the UCLA staff made a big impression on his son and locked up an unofficial visit for the Bruins on the final weekend before National Signing Day.

If we don't get him, I'm hoping UCLA does

I'm fine with him going to UCLA

Yes he is. He is going to UCLA a few days before he signs with Bama. He just didn't want any of the local pressure around him the weekend before he spurns the hometown school in favor of being the next great linebacker at Alabama. I can dream, right?
What makes you so confident that he's not going to UCLA?

I just don't get that vibe from him. I think Tuscaloosa and Athens are the farthest he would go from home for school.

I think spending 2Gs out of pocket to visit two days before NSD is telling.

Do you even Phillip Ely brah?

St. Pauls ran a Wing-T offense so there wasn't much passing game film on him. We lost out on Cody Kessler to Kiffin at USC so we went after Ely. I lived in Tampa while Ely played for Plant High in place of injured Aaron Murray. I drove by their high school every day on the way to work. He led them to the state championship game as a backup. Seemed to be a decent pickup at the time, but that QB Class of 2011 was WEAK.
We offered Coker after his Senior year was over, but he was already committed to FSU.

Depends on who is going and where they are flying out of. If they drive to Atlanta to fly out the tickets aren't that expensive. Flying out of Montgomery would cost a fortune this close to the visit though.

Its him and both parents. Tickets would be at the very cheapest 400$ per. Plus 3 nights in a hotel in LA, and a few meals. 2Gs is going to be the floor of what they are going to spend.

Lance and Bo will be in Kentucky visiting Matt Elam today.
Saban and Brown are in California seeing Dom Jackson and Damien Mama.
Cristobal and Napier are going full-on "Tony Montana" in Dade County today. They are seeing a bunch of prospects while down there.

I don't know what his parents do for a living so I can't speak to their frivolity with money. Perhaps they have good jobs where a couple grand is no issue?

They must be OT ballers.
