I was sooooo pissed when we traded him
Our RB stable is stacked now though we good
I agree on the D and it has helped blitz schemes to have Haynesworth out I believe

Yea, I think Lovie will get yall back on track. He's a good coach.
But I hope we use Henry, Yeldon, Drake the same way NE uses their Running Backs. Seems like Bill doesn't tolerate that fumbling and tip toe'ing.

Yep Lovie is putting together an all-star staff so far and thankfully the Glazers listened to him and agreed to let him put together his staff

Can someone post what the commits/recruits reactions are to Rumph leaving/Kiffin hiring?

There really wasn't a whole lot on TS, most were responses by lineman and LBs on both. Why do I need to know what a LB thinks about Kiffin
Mekhi Brown and Hand said it didn't matter, Miller is the only one that sounded conflicted.

Instead of dragging out these coaching changes, I really wish Saban would get it done quickly, so we can establish stability with our 2014 recruiting class. The longer he draws this out the more doubt creeps in these kids minds. Spare me the "the kid should be dedicated to Alabama!" routine. They are teenagers, who aren't fully developed mentally and with extremely short attention spans due to our microwave gratification society. Any sign of doubt is an opening for another staff to take advantage.
It always humors me when we take advantage of doubt to flip a kid or get a commitment, yet people think we're somehow about this happening to us all because we're Alabama.

Watched '05 USCw vs ND (top 10 match up) last night and it got me excited as hell about Lane
His schemes on O got guys open in 05 more than I've seen in a while in college
Stacked WRs (2 on weak side) and a single strong side TE in the split back formation (with Bush and LenDale White), both RBs run flat routes, outside WR runs a flag comeback, inside WR runs a route tree (most of the time a cut route inside pulling the strong side S up) both those guys are decoys while the TE sneaks out off the chip and runs either a deep flag slant or deep go route and is WIDE OPEN
The running game used LenDale White as the battering ram to wear the inside guys in the box down and the PA was absolutely DEADLY! He found lots of touches out of the backfield for Bush from screens to an outside stretch which was effective with zone scheme blocking after the D had to deal with the pounding from LW. He balanced both backs extremely well.

Remember that USC had a talented offense, but here is the 2005 total offense with Lane as the OC.

Kiffin's one year of OC was pretty damn good.

Hearing Coach O will be the next DL coach, and other shakeups on the defensive side including Steele.

yep that confirms it pretty much - Brown out, Kirby back to DBs, Steele to ILBs.

Whitley is a headcase. He's talented, but if this series of events is any indication of his mental fortitude, then I'm glad we didn't get him.
