Evidently you're adept at following their lives close enough to know which schools their considering but not why, ironically something which has been brought up a million times in the same posts.

You don't have to like this thread, we do. We share and discuss information, if you don't like it, don't read or post here punk.
Now tell me more about you not following these kids lives as you follow their recruitment on the thread you just bashed. Idiot.

I wonder if Fournette has been silently all Bama ever since the first time Saban or Burns talked to him? How ever long ago that was.

To go with the December theme for Bama:
"But I've decided to not pursue football."

I love that Cornwell article so much in common with me. (other than him being a decent football player of course)

BTW I was talking about Kentucky originally. If these programs are so easy to keep instate kids at (instate kids that other teams want) then why Mark Stoops and Hugh Freeze? Why not the much better coaches who tried and failed at both stops?
Well let's see. Joker is far from a "much better coach" and was recruiting kids that were getting MAC offers. Brooks inherited a team on probation with scholarship restrictions and was in state at the same time Petrino was at UofL (who locked down top talent in the Louisville area). And neither one bothered to recruit the state of Ohio consistently which is the closest hotbed to our backyard.
Stoops is a young guy that the kids seem to relate to pretty well, the guys he's recruited defensively at his previous stop will be playing for a BCS championship, and majority of his recruiting has been in Ohio where he can sell immediate PT in the SEC.
He started by landing some decent talent outside of the state in order to keep the kids in state at home with some help. And it's not like you can't get to the NFL through Kentucky. Guys like Wesley Woodyard and Danny Trevathan who are starting in the Broncos LB corp are good examples of that.
That's not to say I don't think Alabama gets Elam. I think it's as close a race as you can get. But you're being pretty damn ridiculous in suggesting that it has to be cheating just to keep top talent home. Sometimes coaches are able to capitalize on the immediate PT, some new energy with a program, etc. This would be like me shitting on a kid who lives in the state of Alabama for picking Alabama over Kentucky in basketball.

To be more accurate, this would be like Demarcus Cousins picking Auburn over Kentucky.

Chris Singleton picked a FSU team that hadn't made the NCAA Tournament in something like a couple decades over Kentucky a few years back. shite happens.

You guys have never been a relevant football program at all at least Bama has times they've been good at basketball. Could Stoops bring energy? sure. Is he likely to? No. So you guys are wasting your time and our time recruiting Elam. You guys only care at this point to keep him away from better programs. You guys have never cared about football stop pretending like y'all do. Just like "ole miss" fans, kentucky football fans are the worst at trying to be Bama football fans as well. You guys are only football fans when you get a new coach, much like when Brooks started out, when Phillips started out and so forth.

shite does happen. My point being it would be hard for a Kentucky fan to find the reasoning in a blue chip basketball player picking perennial doormat auburn over top 5 Kentucky. Same principle.
Posted on 12/26/13 at 7:16 pm to Libertyabides71
Yes, we're only recruiting Elam to screw Saban and have no need for him on the field.
You're half mental. And pre-Joker we were routinely Top 25 in attendance. The fans have been there and been through some shite football. We're not trying to be Alabama Football fans. We would like to at least see the product we saw under Brooks and his late bowl streak.

I wouldn't be happy about it but I wouldn't automatically throw out "THEY'RE CHEATING" card either.
In my lifetime I saw Tim Couch pick Kentucky over Alabama so I guess it's not a big stretch for me. Not with as well as Stoops has been recruiting.

Its funny you guys don't recruit top SEC caliber athletes outside your borders. If Matt Elam is from Georgia you guys don't make his top 15 unless his other 14 offers are from the ACC and the SOCON. You guys are the elite basketball program of the SEC but any "success" you guys have ever had in football (and by success I mean being a C minus/D plus program) only comes from association with the other 11/13 SEC members.
I am tired of the "SEC" manifesting itself to the point Kentucky, Ole Miss, State, and USC fans are convinced they have anything to do with SEC football tradition.
