He may be having fun in Tuscaloosa. I've lived in Tampa. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

What are the chances we get Tony Brown or Jermaine Roberts?

I know Cornwell is visiting on the 16th but isn't expected to throw. I really wish he would to determine if he gets an offer. I'd like to wrap up our QB in this class before June. I know that's when we will decide who to go after all of them throw at camp.
It was about this time last year that Browne and Hackenberg got the QB dominoes falling. I would rather be ahead of the curve at that position for this class instead of scrambling because we didn't offer the #1 guy on our board before he came to camp.
I know QB is the most important position on the field, but if we feel confident to give committable offers at other positions this early, I don't see why QB should be any different.
Hopefully this will spark a debate to get some posts going.

I really wish we'd just go ahead and offer the guy. He is basically saying "if Bama offers me, I'm committing to them" in every interview he does. I have always thought the "come throw for us to get your offer" policy was just a tactic to get talented QBs on campus anyway, and that doesn't seem to be an issue with this kid. I don't want to see it blow up in our faces on this one.

Pretty sure if he lets it be known on campus that he will commit on site with a commitable offer they will offer and won't wait. Provision of this would be how much film Nuss has seen on him and how he feels he compares, which is obviously pretty good if TS is granting his approval

Was this ever posted? It's straight from Chandler Kincade on Bama's QB recruiting method:
quote:
"What they like to do is really get to know you and see you throw in the spring, and he’ll film it, and Coach [Nick] Saban will see it,” Kincade said “Then they’ll offer, but it’s not a committable offer until you get to the camp and Saban sees you throw live.”

Yeah I saw that Mag and it's definitely true.
I wish it wasn't, but it is. I honestly believe we missed out on Andrew Luck, Hackenberg, and Kiel due to this policy. Granted, the only one of the 3 I mentioned that has proven anything so far is Luck and we got AJ in the next class so we didn't miss out on much.
I believe Cornwell will wait so it may all work out in the end. But sometimes I wish we would just pull the trigger and offer a QB early so we can put that position behind us and let our guy recruit for us for an extra 2-3 months.

Speaking of the fricking devil, Kiel is transferring from Notre Dame. Wow. What a head case. Good thing we didn't offer before he came to camp.

They're pretty meticulous, but I'm sure it serves a higher purpose. To them, they have to be sure this is the guy they are gonna invest their scholarship and offense into. They have to put in the work to fond out for certain WHILE coaching a football team and recruiting other players. It's a juggling act they have to lay out a schedule to get it done.
Being outsiders, yeah we can go say this guy is obviously better, but the only thing we have access to is highlight tapes and recruiting profiles. And if we turn out to be wrong, no skin off our teeth right? They've got to meet and interview them in person, we'll likely never be in the same room as all these QBs.
QBs still commit rather early compared to most stars, so they'll still have plenty of time to recruit. If the staff feels strongly enough about a player, I'm sure they'll let him commit.

Shaun Dion Hamilton is announcing on April 17th. I'm guessing Auburn here?

Butch Jones is going to do well there. He will be the most successful of this years hires.

Poor kid. His current team got crushed by Bama in the BCSNC game and he's considering going to a school that hasn't beat us in 7 years.
