Talking about saving $ in college athletics is the polite way to say "the boosters aren't opening up the check books."
This is collegiate athletics, there is no profit maximization incentive and no reason for profitable ADs to make cost effectiveness the primary goal.
What is Bryne going to do with all this saved money exactly? Pay Saban or Avery even more than their #1 / #15 compensation ranking salaries?

You didnt take the same accounting courses I took at Alabama. Did you see how much they are talking about spending.

The late start to Coleman makes me pause. I think there is a real possibility Bryne actually wants a new arena/alternative upgrades. As in Bryne is trying to buy time
I don't think this late start is anything other than them prioritizing the BDS changes to appease the football boosters who will be donating most of the money. Most of the fan base is excited about the changes they planned and can make happen if they do in fact use the allotted 115 million to reno Coleman. The only thing some of us are frustrated by is the delay.

No, but not sure why that is relevant

Yes, what's your point?

From talking to people in RL, the general feeling always is that the changes are better than nothing but uninspiring
Most wanted a new arena

That's not what I'm hearing at all. Everyone I know is hyped about that video with the only negative being that the capacity may be too small.
I honestly don't see what a new arena would accomplish that wasn't shown in the renovation plans.

I’m very excited for what was shown. My only complaint is how long it’ll take before we begin working on it

Yeah that's definitely putting a damper on it.

Thank God I DVRd almost every game from Last season. Idk what my favorite moment was....the 2nd half @UF,the 2nd half against the Barn in the SECt, the whole game vs UT, or Collins buzzer beater vs A&M.

CJ Walker is cutting his list from 12 to 5 tomorrow night. This is Yasir’s guy so hopefully we’re in a good spot and he can make a big impact for the staff.

'There is plenty of room in the ceiling to increase the incline of the rows, especially if they decrease the number of seats. And, maybe that is the reason for the decrease in seating capacity.'
If they increase incline, there will be old folks rolling down. Alabama State has increased incline and it is too much closeness, as well as difficult. The people making decisions won't care. They'll have a box.

Auburn didn't finish last year's schedule until Aug 25 if that helps
I believe Alabama finishes around same time too

Basketball scheduling is both very complex and has a lot of flexibility
There isn't much of a need to have it finished before end of August

I could see that if the non-conference schedule was the issue but it's usually done prior to the conference schedule. Does TV have any input?

Anyone know any details, is his career over or trying to play elsewhere? Guess this means AJ Jr. remains on scholarship

Feel like this has been known for awhile. Don't think it matters much with Lewis' arrival.

I'm guessing he can't get cleared by our medical staff to play.

Right, I know we havent been expecting him to play for medical reasons. But to me, it makes it sound like he might transfer and play somewhere else, which would really surprise me.
