Does he really want to become a collegiate coach? He's like 70 years old. Imo he should just retire as a great high school coach.

Was getting to play in Huntsville a priority for you all after the atmosphere this season? “Absolutely. We had a great time in Huntsville. Sold out. The energy that was in the building was unbelievable. Really excited about returning to Huntsville.”
They should just move all the home games up here. We like basketball in this part of the state.

It is really stupid how both Alabama/Auburn don't play more neutral site games in the following locations
-Huntsville
-Mobile
-Montgomery (Bama)
-Birmingham (AU)
-Atlanta
It is a waste of time to try and fill an arena on a Wed when playing the North South University of the Directionally Challenged Schools. Even FB has issues keeping seats filled depsite sellouts when playing cupcakes
The chance for people in underserved AL sports markets seeing their "team," in their home town, is almost a guarantee arena filler
Also, it helps the players get used to traveling/playing at non home arenas

Seems like Avery will have us playing in 4 different Alabama cities for the second straight year which is pretty good (Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Birmingham, Huntsville). Would be cool to move around and play in some other cities like you mentioned (especially Mobile or Atlanta) in the near future.
Any idea why Auburn hasn't done this more?

Where are they going to play? The Acadome? It's not that great of a place.

Montgomery should have built an arena when they built Riverwalk, or at least kept the Coliseum up to date. If mobile redevelop the Civic center, Montgomery will still be the only city without a formal event/convention space.

Nice we get 2 shots at UF, Im fairly sure we win at least 1 against them.

It's stupid that the SEC made LSU one of our permanent home and home opponents instead of Tennessee.

Auburn has a series with UAB so sort of doing it. I obviously think we should do more, my friend who works with AU basketball agrees. There are some big obstacles though
-Finding opponents, Auburn doesn't have bball history and isn't the flagship athletics/brand program for AL. We don't offer opponents much in terms of recruiting/exposure at this point
-Lost Ticket/Advertising Revenue- We sell out our tickets. That means we lose all the revenue for that game. We then likely have to pay money for neutral site venues etc / split ticket revenue
-Logistics - Fitting it in the schedule, booking the venue, likely paying opponent and traveling etc is a huge undertaking in terms of administrating & financing
-Have Winning Games at home in front of fans - Most of the games we'd do for this would be auto wins. It is good to have those big wins in our home arena to get people in the habit of coming and seeing us win

What does this statement by Avery Johnson regarding Key's fiasco with the NBA sound like to y'all?
"He went through the process, the process played out basically how I thought it was going to play out,” Alabama coach Avery Johnson said on Wednesday. “But at the same time, he had to make the decision that he wanted to put two feet back in, return to school and be a major part of our team.”

I don't see anything special about it.
