Oats coaching style is different from Saban’s in that he is open with the team about standings and such. I think in basketball it’s a little different anyways because one loss or two losses don’t ruin your chances. In football you have to approach it as if every game is just as important as the last because one loss could throw you from playoff contention.

Agreed 100% and you can specifically emphasize Bama Basketball and Football. Saban isnt scared that we'll lose to half the teams on our schedule. He is scared that we will lose focus, practice like shite, play like shite, and it will bite us in the arse later in the year.

Obviously Oats wants us to practice right because it'll help our performance in the postseason. But we are also in uncharted territory and nobody on the roster knows what it is like to be playing for a top-seed rather than playing just to make the tournament. So why not openly tell the guys exactly what an elite team does week in and week out even though they arent playing for their lives?

Its amazing having 2 coaches that are savvy when communicating to the players

Somebody posted on Rivals that Bruner is practicing and will be back next week.

Yes he is practicing. Expect him back as early as next week.

Timetable was 4-6 weeks.

If he's back for the Arkansas game on Wednesday that would be six weeks and a day. Hope it's true.

One thing I like about Oats is this team could really use an off day, but he's still adamant about playing the game tomorrow.

It's been said a thousand times, but the offense this year isn't much at all different than last year.

The difference is defense. Bama couldn't stop a runny nose last season.

More depth helps too. This time last season Herb's out there playing with a cast on because they're down to that or the walk on white guys.

What are the chances we avoid Gonzaga and Baylor until the Final Four without getting a 1?

With Bruner coming back, I'm starting to think final four.

Alabama almost had it rolling last year but Herb got hurt and it kind a spiraled from there! They are light years better defensively like you mentioned.
