Kind of glad Houston was replaced with WKU. Obviously it caused a fire to be lit under our arse.

Might be my second favorite loss behind Norfolk St beating us.

I was listening to the @EyeOnCBBPodcast, and with all respect to @GaryParrishCBS, Herbert Jones WAS a star last year.

He was the #1 rated defender at EvanMiya.com in 2020, over the likes of Marcus Garrett, Mark Vital, Azubuike, and Xavier Tillman, and 3rd overall.

Crazy that Sharife Cooper shot 21 foul shots last night, gonna be hard to beat them if they call a foul every time he drives. Our whole team only shot 28 free throws last night.

Speaking of free throws, we were pretty clutch from the line last night, we hit 24 out of 28 free throws, great to see.

Yep, that was awesome. Need to see more of that moving forward.

Shack has really come through. Kid has heart. He's wildly inconsistent in transition and on his layups, but he keeps fighting. Thought his most underrated play last night was when he snagged a rebound over two UK players and got the bucket. But he was clutch from the line last nignt.

Coach Oats has trained me well.

I like my 3 pointers just like dealing with water moccasins on my property. Catch and shoot.

Cool, but no affect on Scholarship numbers for the upcoming seasons? I feel like that’s going to be giving HS prospects the shaft a bit then.

It's really going to frick up football numbers and future high school kids. But we probably won't see many issues with our football team. Basketball court be bad too, with such limited rosters, and such a small percentage that make the NBA.

This was peak Gary Patterson Mountain West years at TCU

I'm kinda surprised he hasn't gotten them back to being nationality competitive again. But I guess with the time changes, it's harder for their defense to help them win games.

Several potential Quadrant movers.

Arkansas is 2 spots away from becoming a Q1 win. Currently Q2.

Clemson is 1 spot away from becoming a Q1 loss. Currently Q2.

Stanford is 8 spots away from becoming a Q1 loss. Currently Q2.

Kentucky (1/12) is 5 spots away from becoming a Q1 win. Currently Q2.

Western Kentucky is 4 spots away from becoming a Q2 win. Currently Q3.

Kentucky (1/26) is 5 spots away from becoming a Q2 win. Currently Q3.

Jacksonville State is 14 spots away from becoming a Q3 win. Currently Q4.

A UK win over a depleted Texas squad would be huge for us. Probably bumps them up into Q1/Q2 wins

WKUs win over us may single handily get them in the tournament. Especially if they is no CUSA tournament and they don’t get the chance to play UAB

LSU's entire defensive philosophy is run out and jump at a shooter.

Don't forget the entire team collapsing in whenever anyone drives the lane, leaving the other 4 guys on offense completely open.

Providence plays Marquette tonight. Q3 game for the Friars - need them to win that one.

Clemson plays Louisville tonight. Q2 game for the Tigers - need them to win tonight.

The tiger rant when we were up by 40 was priceless. I've never seen them melt so hard because of a basketball game.

Current ESPN BPI:

Alabama 42.3%
Oklahoma 57.7%

I heard that the lowest winning percentage for home teams ever is 64%. This year, home teams are winning at 57%. So it looks like they basically see us as even.

Yeah, I wouldn’t bank on any of them returning, especially not Petty considering how close he was to leaving last season

Agreed Petty is gone.

Herb should be a solidified draft pick at this point, so I’d think he’s gone.

I've seen him predicted in a mock draft as mid to late 2nd rounder. Which, unless he starts shooting like Petty or Primo, sounds about right.

Bruner is the one I could see being willing to stay another if he still needs to finish a graduate degree.

As of now, I don't see him being dragged in the NBA. But he might be ready to make some money and bang some european chicks. Definitely not a bad way to spend your 20s. No clue his major, but him being a Yale grad, hell probably do well in whatever he does for a career. He's a tough one to figure out.

Big Picture Thought:

Western Kentucky's win at Alabama is going to carry a lot of weight on Selection Sunday if the Hilltoppers don't win the C-USA Tournament. Crimson Tide are playing like a two seed. And climbing.

Auburn with Cooper is really fricking good. Glad we got them in their place before he got a few games under his belt.

But we also had to play him without any film. That's a definite disadvantage.
