It's kinda crazy since this is basketball and I know it was hard to believe during the year but, we cant beat anyone in the tourney. It comes down to who shows up and performs.

I'm not suggesting Gonzaga isn't great, but there's some of the same human mind tendacies at play with them that caused the Big 10 to be declared the "bestest ever!"
I think Bama can keep it close by just playing "good." And I think Bama beats them if they have one of their better games.

Agree. I don't think we won't have to play "out of our minds" but it would have to be a great game. I wonder what the theoretical spread would be if the 2 played now.
Funny this year I decided I wasn't even going to pay attention to pre conference. I tuned in for some of the games but didn't go out of my way to watch them until conference play opened. It's been a treat all year for me.

Listening to the podcast now. He mentioned that there was stuff behind the scenes with LSU that made it where we had to have that win

I do wonder how well he would translate to the NBA though. Obviously the offensive system would be fine, but the whole blue collar mentality - i'm not so sure. Seems like it would be tough to get a bunch of multi millionaire grown men to dive for loose balls, take a bunch of charges and compete with each other for a post game hard hat.
It’s funny, I watched the Jazz play the Nets last night and that’s exactly what I was thinking while watching the game. I’m not saying Oats won’t ever make that jump, but if he does, he’s going to have to abandon the entire defensive philosophy he’s had until this point.
Even the “great” individual NBA defenders don’t get after guys like his teams, much less an entire team playing defense as a cohesive unit. Loose balls and charges? Maybe in the playoffs, but not even regularly at that point.
He’s smart enough to know all of this and it would be hard to imagine turning down a shot at the pros, but it would be an adjustment for sure. All that said, if he did manage to get a pro team to play with the same intensity as his college teams on both sides of the ball, he would be an annual contender. And a complete anomaly

I just listened to it - he also started to say "we've won 4 straight" and stopped himself LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
There is clearly no love lost there.

Thank God I've got something to listen to while trying to pack my house up. I'm not done but it's a good interview so far.
But at exactly 48:00, the way he says "We got that win. We're good." is with the listen alone. He gets into the lsu stuff about 46:45.

It’s all got to be Watford related, right?

I'm going to have to listen in the morning - sounds like a good one.

I do find it ironic (and funny) that Oats has a little bit of "gangster" in his general demeanor towards LSU.

It was good. Fun interview. Those guys are great at weaving between goofy fun stuff and really good questions and Oats was having a lot of fun with it.

LSU thought Will Wade was a gangster. But after seeing Oats, they realized he's Fredo.

I have to imagine that's a big part of it.

You can normally count on articles written for gamblers to be unbiased and statistically sound.

I think Herb, Petty, and Reese take it personally that a 5* guy from Alabama who grew up an Alabama fan didn’t come to Bama. Basically because he didn’t think they were good enough(plus $trong arse offers)
AND IM GLAD THEY DO
