A good thing is that Ala opened up at 4 1/2 and the smart money pushed it immediately up to 6..usually a good sign.

Damn, the women have given up 100 with two minutes still to go.

100% agree re: Michigan and the B1G teams.

FSU would just be a damn war I think. An absolute war.

We would have to be firing on all cylinders in a potential matchup with FSU. Good defense, making outside shots, finishing drives... And it would still be a battle. They're an athletic nightmare and could terrorize our smaller guards at the rim, tighten passing lanes, create turnovers, etc. And they play pretty fast, relatively speaking, so we couldn't just outpace them either. They just beat a really good Colorado team by nearly 20 points.

I think we can beat Michigan with an average night offensively if the defense played to form.

Of course, all of that is assuming we take care of UCLA first, but I'm not overly concerned about that game. They've made an impressive run to get here, but by far the best team they've played in the tournament so far is BYU. BYU has nice efficiency metrics, but they can't match the tempo or athleticism coming from Bama. With Herb, Ellis, Petty, Gary, and crew on D, I think their lead guards find points much harder to come by on Sunday and their magical run from the First Four comes to an end by double digits.

Goodness Maryland has been beating the shite out of everyone they play for since they lost their last game back in late January. Look at these margins.

Alabama - W by 36
Mt St Marys - W by 43
Iowa - W by 20
Northwestern - W by 33
Nebraska - W by 10
Penn State - W by 27
Michigan - W by 25
Northwestern - W by 12
Purdue - W by 29
Iowa - W by 18
Minnesota - W by 32
Illinois - W by 45
Nebraska - W by 18
Wisconsin - W by 40

They've won 14 straight games by an average margin of 28 points

I do think that we could cause FSU some major issues with our defense as well. They can have some horrendous offensive games, and they do not have a point guard on their roster.

But I agree - they are the worst matchup between us and the Final Four.

Not going to pretend I know a ton about women's basketball or all of those teams they beat, but that is as dominant as you can be - wow.

It does not look like the B1G was a very good conference this year, but beating teams on the reg by 30-40 points in your league still seems pretty impressive.

Even with the beat down to end it, really good season for the women. First NCAAWT appearance in 20+ years is something to be proud of.

They lose 3 of their 5 starters and their top 3 scorers next year.

Will definitely be a big year for Curry to prove whether the program is solid again or whether she just won with some good seniors.

Yeah that’s one that would likely be an ugly type game. They’re a team you have to shoot over. They are a team that has been scary to play in the tournament since Hamilton got there. They’re going to beat the hell out of you and tourney refs are far more lenient.

They're prone to some stinker games. They were bad against Carolina, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech, and they weren't very good against UNCG either.

Their defensive style and roster makeup just doesn't feel like a very good matchup for us. They'll swallow up our drive game and be able to defend everything else because of it.

Michigan or FSU, if we get past UCLA I’ll convince myself whoever we are playing that we’ll win to get to the final four.

Absolutely - just give me 15 minutes and I'll pump out all the graphs and charts you need to feel invincible.
