UCLA is going to have to shoot like Maryland did to beat us. Their defense is what’s been impressive, but our system gives everyone problems. If Petty is truly back we score at least 70 every game.

UCLA's defense hasn't really been very good this year - they are not as good a defensive team as Maryland, for instance.
They've been better lately because their 2 guys have been making all their shots.

It seems like their opponents haven’t scored much in the tourney, but maybe they played poor offensive teams.
BYU and ACU but those teams weren’t the best.
I see where MSU scored 80 on them though in the first four.
I like our odds.

5 returners. We gonna be good next year too.

Seeing the total disarray that many other programs are in while we are still alive in the NCAA tournament with a strong group of players returning and a great recruiting class coming in is pretty satisfying, I must say.

People talk about the FOGS, and how interesting their takes can be. Will Oats be able to create a new creature in Tuscaloosa, the basketgumps?

Through Hell, Fire, and brimstone, many of us have walked. It’s hard to watch fans celebrate, that haven’t felt the pure pain what being a Bama basketball fan has been like.

Do any of y’all know if we will be able to practice at Hinkle this week since so many teams have left?
I think getting a good practice or 2 in there will be huge for us

Do you mean Gumps who decide they love basketball because we're winning or FOGs who decide that they'd rather be able to talk shite about basketball than continue insisting they don't like it?

I really started watching during the Gottfried years, it felt every routine knee surgery during that time turned into a bum knee.
Really thought Grant was going to bring Bama all the way back to yearly NCAA appearances.
Avery Johnson was a great recruiter I felt like he was on the verge but could never put it together.
Oats has me so giddy right now, just the style and pace I could never imagine Alabama running this type of system. I love that he doesn't see Alabama basketball as inferior to it's football program.
We might have a few players who might stay home. Could you imagine Watford type added to this roster?

We need two more games like the Maryland one and one survival game to make it to The Championship! Make it happen guys. Looks well within reach with some luck and guts. We know you all have guts.

Michigan/Florida State
This game is right ahead of ours on Sunday and we would play the winner in the Elite 8 if we beat UCLA.
Who are we rooting for?
George, you got anything that says we definitely prefer one over the other?

Without looking at stats, I'd lean Florida State is who we want. Michigan is a very fundamentally sound basketball team, on both ends of the court. Florida State kinda reminds me of LSU. Lot of athleticism and talent, but at times undisciplined and inconsistent.
I have only watched both teams a couple of times all season though, so take my analysis with a huge grain of salt.

I know FSU has some lengthy defenders that seem to cause some problems.
