I actually think it's even cooler, seeing a 58% FT shooter sink both for the upset. shite like that is why March madness is so great.
And he walked straight up to the line and stared at it for a solid 15-20 seconds beforehand too.
That was awesome.

I couldn't believe Iona never got called for a moving screen...because they happened all day. That makes playing D a little harder
That Junior Joseph kid was a bull in a china shop and they just let him keep getting away with stuff the whole game.

And now Texas have gone from wanting Shaka fired, to winning the Big 12 tournament, to being upset by a 14 from their own state.
Shaka is basically just a continuation of the later stages of the Barnes era for Texas. Good recruiting, decent regular seasons, postseason disasters. They could definitely do better, but they could also do a lot worse. If they fire him they'd have Beard in Austin within 24 hours of TTU being eliminated though, and he'd probably be a big upgrade.

Texas fans overlook the lucky turnover when the AbC kid dribbled off his foot, gifting Texas the chance to get their late 1-point lead. I prayed for that kid to sink those two free throws.

It’s early, but so far Loyola’s defensive numbers on KenPom look pretty justified. They are not letting Illinois get anything easy.

Alabama's reward for being a 2:
The 10, 11, and 14 on their side.
Still no reason to take anything lightly. We struggled with a 15
And look at who those teams are...
LSU is underseeded. They should've probably been a 6 seed, I've heard some say a 5. Fsu is very good and a lot were expecting them to be a 3 seed. Colorado I'm not so sure about. Though PAC teams have done very well so far.
We definitely have the most favorable path we could've possibly gotten. Still gotta shoot better and less sloppy than we did yesterday to keep advancing. They didn't have the talent, but definitely had elite coaching, which kept us out of our game.

I wonder where Moser ends up after this year. He's proving that their Final Four run wasn't really a fluke.

I noticed their PG extend both arms pushing away defenders to create space to catch a pass 7 or 8 times, and it was never called. He looked like a WR blocking down field.

Looking at KenPom a bit while this game is on, and it’s not like there are a ton of uptempo teams in the top 20-30.
12 of the top 20 are 150 in tempo or lower. 6 of the top 20 are in the 300s in tempo.
I’m not overlooking Abilene Christian, but Maryland and UCLA are both in the 300s. So can we speed them up or can we beat them in a slower paced game?
We are definitely fairly unique in how good we are on defense while playing fast. On the other hand, Gonzaga being 4th in tempo and #1 in offensive efficiency is pretty ridiculous.
The fact that they’re 7th in defense is just piling on.

Gonzaga has destroyed several theories I've had. They're insane. I would love to see their average shot chart this season.

Loyola just ran some double screen and then kick out for an open 3, and I don’t know much about basketball X’s and O’s but that seemed pretty slick to me.

frick, then some motion and screens and ball movement leading to an easy post up. This is good stuff.

big man for Loyola is a load.

Ventured to the rant, read a thread about how Herb is the reason our offense was meh again, and it once again reinforces why I do my best not to go over there.

They shared what sister Jeans pregame prayer was and it was basically a scouting report on Illinois.

Loyola playing a complete ballgame so far.
If they can keep this 10 point buffer to the half they are in business. They don't strike me as a team that will have a meltdown.

Same - a few years ago I got that cynical feeling about her and the whole thing, but they've kept it so fun that you can't help but love it.
