Funny that we are in the NCAA tournament and Kentucky, Duke and possible Michigan State are sitting at home.

He may have run out of gas but the refs let Ken bang away down low on D in the 2nd half.

Glad we play Miss St, but they won't be a pushover. Gonna have to come ready to play.

Yep

There will be no gimmee games the rest of the season. However, we haven't had many of those over the last 3 months anyway, so it shouldn't be any different.

MSU is a much more predictable team.

Agree - we know exactly what we are getting tomorrow. Time to get after it.

His teams would frustrate me because of how they play (old Alabama basketball), but I really like Howland. And his dudes play their asses off.

The last time that the NCAA tourney didn’t have either Duke and Kentucky?

It was also the last time that a team ran the table.

1975-76.

Ben Howland on Alabama: “They’re the best team in our league. I voted Herb Jones as both POY and DPOY. Quinerly, in my opinion, was the sixth man of the year."

“Obviously Nate’s done a tremendous job. I love Shackelford. They have great personnel. Primo. They’re really, really well-coached. They’re very difficult because of how they space the floor and spread you out. Herb and Petty are so good."

Kentucky finishes the season 9-16. That's UK's most losses in a season since going 13-19 in the 1988-89 season. It's also the first time since since that 1988-89 season that Kentucky has finished a season under .500

First time since 1926-27 that UK hasn't won at least 10 games.

Kentucky's 2021 season is worse than any Alabama basketball season, by win %, since 1970

Think about that

TIDE TO FACE STATE IN QUARTERFINALS

No. 9-seed Mississippi State defeated No. 8-seed Kentucky, 74-73, on Thursday in Nashville, which means the No. 1-seed Crimson Tide will face the Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament on Friday, March 12. The game at Bridgestone Arena will air on ESPN.

Alabama swept the regular-season series against Mississippi State, first on Jan. 23 by a score of 81-73 in Tuscaloosa and again on Feb. 27, 64-59, in Starkville, Miss., which clinched the SEC regular-season title for the Tide. UA owns a 7-3 record in games against Mississippi State in the SEC Tournament and last faced the Bulldogs in Nashville in 2017 (75-55, Tide win).

“They gave us everything we could handle at their place,” Oats said. “They’ve got maybe in the conversation for the best backcourt in the SEC with (Iverson) Molinar and (D.J.) Stewart. Our first game’s not gonna be easy, no matter who it is. Our second game’s not gonna be easy. And if we’re fortunate enough to get to Sunday, that’s gonna take everything we’ve got to win that one.”
