Haas said this in an article earlier today:

"I haven't really started narrowing down my list yet, but I'd say my top five schools so far would be Kansas, Clemson, Harvard, UAB, and Alabama," said Haas. "Georgia would probably be right there at number six."

"I'm going to start narrowing down my list May and then I'll probably take my visits and decide sometime next year. I'm going to be looking for the best school to give me a chance at making the NBA and a chance to earn a great education."

Actually not a super hard sell for Grant. Larry Sanders went from unknown to lottery pick to one of the better NBA Centers today. But Kansas being in his top 5 sucks and it certainly is an easier sell there.

I wouldn't think so.

Bamamag did some sort of update with Algie Key and it basically said Key likes us, but we haven't offered yet.

CC kept saying we offered him. Maybe he is just a back-up plan just in case we get a transfer?

I would have thought we already offered him but he said we didn't. I guess we'll offer him if Thompson goes elsewhere

It's kind of what I fear, but I guess I can understand it. Grant knows he has to produce a good team next year and Key is a really good finisher from what I've heard and seen and he could make our team better next year as he is one of the top JUCO wings. It just scares the shite out of me that we would have to replace 4 wings with the 2015 class.

If only we could have landed Johnson...

Yeah...we are going to have a year pretty soon where we are having to start at least a couple of freshmen and have several more see significant minutes. This class and last years class have just been huge clusterfricks. No idea why we only went after Pollard last year unless we were 100% sure to get better players in this cycle than we could have gotten last year. We have failed to do that. In fact we have failed to get anyone at all. The next two classes both need to be complete and full of talent or we will be a complete shite show in 2 or 3 years.

If we sign Key, my hope would be that Pollard develops into a quality SF and we land Coleman. That way worst case scenario, barring transfers, we would end up with a Coleman-Obasohan-Pollard-Hale-Taylor lineup with freshmen filling some PT on the bench.

If we do end up taking Key, it would make Purifoy as close to a must-land recruit as it gets.

@GaryParrishCBS: There's an ongoing debate about whether Josh Pastner would bolt for USC. I'll discuss it now on radio. Listen: bit.ly/RZa1aE

Pookie Powell chose Memphis over Bama before early spring signing period. Would be interesting to see what happens with his situation were that to happen.

He would probably be released from the scholarship if he wanted wouldn't he?

Pretty much. Very rare you see a program deny that request after a coaching change.

You ever talked to Dan about what he thought of Algie Key coming out of HS?

Saw this in an article I saw posted on Bamamag:

quote:

He (William Lee) averaged 19.6 points and 17.5 rebounds per game and also managed to create even more production with 5.1 assists per game. There's word of him averaging more than 15 blocked shots per game this season, but a stat like that belongs in Disney World.

If those truly are William Lee's stats, we should be on his door step every day. Even if he has half that many BPG that is impressive regardless of what level he plays at.

Here's the LINK. Breaks down a lot of Bama prospects chances at winning Mr. Basketball and shows some of their stats.
