Depends on what we need. Williams is a better athlete and defensive player, and Johnson is like Jeremy Lamb, pure scoring. I'll take either gladly.

From what I have seen the last couple of years, I will take the scorer. Hopefully some guys can step up this season and make us look semi-competent on offense though.

Evan Daniels thinks we would take both since Johnson is a 2 and Williams is a 3.

We would if we had room. Don't think Grant will boot any of our kids unless it were for disciplinary issues.

@ReggieRankin: Pookie Powell home visits Memphis today, Illinois on Tuesday & Alabama on Wednesday. Scoring PG

Per Dave Telep, L'ville no longer recruiting Cat.

Awesome. Evan Daniels said our coaches stopped by Barber's school yesterday to meet with him.

If we can land Barber plus Williams/Johnson, Hale, and Taylor that should be a top 5-10 class.

Definitely.
The latest stuff from Troy Williams sounds like he may wait until the spring unfortunately.

Bobby Portis told one of our recruiting guys that Williams may come with him and Moses Kingsley on a official visit to Arkansas this weekend. Not sure how true that is.

It could happen but Grant is meeting with Williams at his school on Friday so I don't know if he'd be leaving after that visit or not.

Screw Levi and Lacey, it's the Carl and Moussa pain train this season

5 or 10? If we sign those guys we should be in the top 3 IMO

UF would probably top us with the class they have now, and UK would inevitably too. We'd have a shot at 3rd. Who cares what they rank it though, that's a kick arse 5-player class which is even more impressive when you look at where 4 of those players would be coming from. Even if we strike out on all three of those players, I might cry, but will still be encouraged by the out-of-state top player interest level CAG and staff have invoked in these kids. I've seen so many players rave about our coaching staff and a lot of them label our staff as the best. I can smell the final fours and championship contention coming. So close.

I'll be so pissed.
Our coaches are meeting with Pookie Powell today.

I don't think it'll happen and I sure wouldn't be happy about it, but if Barber goes KU only one of those 3 we'd have a shot at is Johnson (not sure Williams would come with Barber). Even so finishing off a class off with Powell and Roberson/Martin is still a hell of a class. Btw heard anything new on Martin lately?

Nothing other than he'll sign late and people are speculating LSU leads because they are the home school.

This is from Evan Daniels's recruiting report this morning:
*Anthony “Cat” Barber’s recruitment certainly took a turn when one of the favorites – Louisville – opted to bow out of the race. Now Barber is looking at North Carolina State, Alabama and Kansas. The Pack will have Barber on campus this weekend, Alabama met with the highly regarded point guard earlier this week and Kansas had him on campus two and a half weeks ago. Keep in mind that Kansas is also focusing in on Chris Jones and Demetrius Jackson, so they have options. It’s our belief that N.C. State and Alabama are nudging out in front. It’ll be a huge weekend for Mark Gottfried and company, as they have a chance to establish in lead in this race.
*The JaJuan Johnson recruitment is interesting. With Memphis taking Markel Crawford and Nick King, Johnson is likely looking to leave his hometown. Miami and Alabama seem to be the most likely candidates at this point, although Texas is involved as well. Johnson will take a trip to Miami this weekend and is scheduled to see the Longhorns officially on October 6th. It’ll be interesting to see if Johnson opts to schedule any more trips.

If we lose Barber to that pathetic piece of shite used car salesman I will break something.
