2) Win out in the regular season with the exception of UF and make it to the SECTCG

Honestly I don't even think that will do it unless all the current bubble teams start losing. We have to beat UF now, either at their place or in the SECT for an at-large bid IMO. We have to get something to counteract these bad losses.

I like the way Gueye is playing..Very hard on D and if his O can give us 6-7 points a game then it could free up some perimeter shots.

Gueye gives good effort, but damn...sometimes he does stuff that has me scratching my head. Don't even get me started on Jacobs premature baby right arm...

I would take 5 Guye's before I took 1 Jacobs in a pick up game

Well it's probably our only shot if we can't beat UF. It could happen. Winning out gets us in for sure. LSU isn't a bad loss either. It hurts more from a having to watch that shite show standpoint than an RPI standpoint. In fact, if they manage to win out our win over them in Tuscaloosa probably becomes a top 100 win. The ironies of RPI never cease.

I'm just sick of everything about this team. They are mentally weak, poorly coached, fundamentally unsound, and just really fricking painful to watch. I honestly don't think I'm going to invest anymore into it until Grant is gone. I feel just like I did in the middle of Gottfried's last full season. It's obvious that this program is going nowhere soon, but no change is going to be made for at least another year or two.

Oh cmon. We will be a much better team next year. Our guards will become more consistent, Pollard will improve, Engstrom will be back (could have really used him in this game), and 2 more post players, both of which I think will contribute a good bit, especially Hale (which hopefully means no more Jacobs ). If your giving up on them this season, at least come back for next season

Sweet 16 at minimum, imo.

I won't go that far, but I'd say a top 25 team next year.

Oh I'll still watch, but I just can't give a shite anymore. All it does is get my blood pressure up and make me scream at the TV like a lunatic, because everything they do is so fricking stupid and frustrating. I don't usually say things like this because 99.99% of the time it is a ridiculous exaggeration, but I honestly believe some random basketball fan could do a better job of in game coaching than Grant. He might even be worse than Gottfried. It just drives me fricking insane and I can't emotionally invest in it anymore.

If Mal is willing to offer a 22 year old, I'll take it. I'll do it for room and board and beautiful bitches.

The thing that gets me is that he likes to call timeouts in last possession scenarios instead of just letting them play...and then the "play" he draws up is either "Trevor 1 or Trevor 2....go make a shot" or something so unbelievably stupid it defies belief, like Cooper driving to the basket through traffic.

Pretty much anything with constructing offense is his Achille's heel.

On the bright side, I am glad we played much quicker offensively today. At least gives me a glimpse of light at the end of this dark tunnel. Can't wait to be done with the complete stall ball offense.

9 hours later and I still don't know how to react. People that bash Grant every game piss me off but people that sugar coat shite piss me off too. That's why bamamag sucks. This loss today was on Grant but not every loss is. Like robot though, I don't know how much more of this I can take. It kills me never going to the big dance. It's pathetic.

As far as this game goes, it just looks like my point of view is just different from everybody else's. But I'm okay with that.

I think of the losses, this ranks right behind Cincy as far as the least amount of coaching problems in the game as a whole. I guess it might just be because I've grown to just expect poorly drawn-up plays or isolation for last second shots. It's also probably because I was just happy to see us play with a little faster tempo. We had a few full retard passes/shots that got them back in the game.

BTW I don't think it's going to be long before I just delete my account from bamamag. There isn't many realists on that board. Like you said, there's Anti-Grant extremists who mostly only show up after a loss and Grant loyalists who never leave. Not exactly sure which I hate more. And then there is that one nice guy who never tries to piss anyone off nor does he get pissed off and either just states the obvious or agrees with someone he likes (regrettably, it's often me) and reposts exactly what the guy says using different words and then of course he finishes every single post with a strong "RTR!!!!!". that guy...

That game wasn't as poorly coached as some other ones. Grant could've done more, but he wasn't the main problem.

You know what really grinds my gears? Alabama fans. When Gumps talk about basketball, it's either Roll Grant over and over or fire Grant immediately. There's no in between. The retractors only seem to show up after losses, which is also annoying.

RTR!!!!!

I don't put yesterday on Grant at all. Yea, the plays he draws up in timeouts are typically lame as shite, the play he drew up for Lacy at Vanderbilt is the only exception I can think of. However, yesterday he wasn't the one getting loose with the basketball in the last few minutes, he wasn't the one failing to rebound a missed free throw (or rebound in general), and he certainly wasn't the one getting beat to just about every loose balk throughout the game. A lot of petiole seem to think that since we played better offensively that we played a great game, but we played a very incomplete game yesterday.

Putting it all on Grant isn't right. Somehow he needs to get a full game's worth of effort from the players.

Is that kind of stuff not on Grant though? I won't blame the HC if one or two individual players frick up. For example, Frank Haith is a horrible basketball coach, but it isn't his fault that Phil Pressey chokes like a $5 hooker in late game situations. However, in our case it is always a complete team effort. Get a big lead, proceed to shite the bed and let the other team back in the game. It has happened numerous times this year, but typically at home, so we managed to pull it out. If we are down 15 at the half, I have little doubt that we can make a run and make it a game again. If we are up by 15 at the half I know it's going to be a close game again at some point in the 2nd half. We know how to play from behind, but can't handle a lead. To me, that's on the coaching staff. You have to play the same way for 40 minutes regardless of the score.
