I can see that argument somewhat for last year because of us not landing a legit big man, but we didn't really have room to spare for going after a role player post first, because 1. we needed instant PT from them and 2. We only had one guaranteed roster spot available. This year we kind of did have the biggest problem areas committed before we went after a stud, but you can also argue we should have just put all our efforts on Powell instead to sure up the PG spot, though from what I've seen of Retin I think we will be fine there.
Back to the 2014 class, I think you will see Grant go after 3 maybe even 4 home grown players now that we have some. I also expect us to keep going hard after Booker and maybe Reed, though both will be a tough pull, especially the latter.

I agree with all that as well. I'm just disappointed that in year 4, we didn't have a full roster. I still believe in Grant and where we are headed, but some things just don't make sense. It's alright that we question coaches. It's what we do as fans.

Haha the reason I don't question this recruiting tactic that much is because I seriously question whether his offense is capable of contending for a championship without those stars.

The bigger recruiting tactic error to me is how we ended up with so many guards on our team without having many big men and needing to sign 2 big men with 1 guaranteed open scholarship. Having said that I'm still far more worried about his offense instead of his recruiting.

While this def sucks I think most people forget UNC having to play with the walk-on 5 foot nothing white PG when Marshall went down last year. No we aren't as talented as UNC. Just pointing out that a lot of schools don't use their full allotment are and one injury away from oh shitviile if an injury occurs. I think the only answer to our big man recruiting issues is to go after some lesser talented players from the beginning.

So apparently Hubbard is going to join the basketball team after the NCG...
Thoughts?
about time, been wanting this for two years. No excuse not to have Ragland playing also. Tired of these soft post players for Bama. When is the last time we had a physical guy that knew how to use his body?

When did Coach Saban change his stance on this?

Steele is out for 4-6 weeks with hernia surgery. We are officially down to 8.

And Gueye and Jacobs are both less than 100%.
This is what happens when you start out with 10 healthy bodies. A couple of guys are going to get hurt. It happens every year.

The next time Gueye dribbles, he needs to be kicked off the team.

How the hell is that a foul on Releford?

IDK but right now we're getting beaten in every phase

Is this the worst group of post players in major college basketball?
Bit of a rhetorical question - we all know the answer is yes.
Holy frick they are terrible.
Jacobs literally cannot get a rebound, and moves around like a fricking 60 year old man.
Gueye is just so completely raw and uncoordinated.
They can't rebound, score, pass, dribble, or defend. Am I missing something?

put our motherfricking points up on the scoreboard. It's bad enough as it is.

This is the most agressive play I've seen from Pollard. He's still pretty raw, but you can see the potential.

Year 4. 2 million dollars. 8 scholarship players available. I'll just leave that here.

Well i'm currently watching VCU humiliate Us and it's quite sad. There's not enough bowl hits of heady cannabis i can take to expunge this abomination. We have regressed.....

Nick Jacobs may be the worst player in major college basketball.
