Because if we're going to need him we're going to need him against SEC and NCAA tournament teams. It was kind of irrelevant today though, if you throw 8 of 9 pitches for balls it doesn't really matter who the other team is. Gotta throw strikes.

In that inning, Florida did what we haven't been able to and got a bunt down and then scored both runners. Two more walks that come around to score.

Hosting a regional is a longshot at best right now. Finishing in the top four of the SEC and getting a bye in the SEC tournament is a less than 50/50 proposition right now, but we can change that over the final two weeks. We won't though unless we start playing much better.

Things aren't getting any easier anytime soon. @LSU, and Mississippi State, and if the product we put out on the field this weekend is similar to the one we will see for the rest of the season, we may as well just cancel the rest of the season now. Pathetic performance this weekend.

You won't get any argument from me. This has been boiling for awhile now, we haven't played well but have still been winning most of our games. Hopefully getting our butts kicked like this wakes everybody up and forces some things to change. Hard to be optimistic about these final two weeks though.

Previous Gaspard teams haven't responded well to adversity. I don't have much hope.

We're down to #25 in this week's RPI.

Eicholtz is starting tonight. Hopefully Bramblett will be able to provide some much needed help out of the pen in conference play.

Salem had a one out double in the first. He didn't score.

Bama is up 4-0 in the 4th. Overstreet had a two out 2 run homerun in the 3rd.

Hughston has homered as well. Cucjen started at third base, I wonder if that's going to be a thing now? Vincent has been awful defensively of late.

I think he should get a chance. Vincent is not very consistent at third base.

I agree.

Hawley came on to pitch the fifth inning, Eicholtz was on a pitch count according to the Twitter feed. 4-0, B5

Salem just got called out at first on a bunt with nobody out. He beat the throw by at least a step, not sure how he was called out. If we were not up 4-0 and in a nonconference game I would be really mad right now

6-1 final. Hawley threw five scoreless innings to finish it out.

Nice win tonight.

Someone brought up Miss. St , their fourteen and ten record
is better than ours. but they don't play UF, USCe or UK this year.

I like our chances with MSU at home.

Mississippi St is a good team with a lot of talent. They have plenty back from their national runner-up team last year. They always get it going this time of year too, and this year seems no different after they gave up 1 run all weekend at Auburn. That'll be a very tough series for us, especially the way we're playing right now.

Kendall Rogers of Perfect Game has us as the two seed in Virginia's regional in this week's projections. Would suck big time. That's the one place we could go and, even if we were playing our best ball, stand pretty much no chance of advancing. Assuming we don't host, avoiding that regional and FSU's would be big, but those are two of the more likely landing spots at this point.

@_DCReeves: A change to #Alabama's planned rotation for Sunday. Going TBA instead of Keller. All hands on deck for Fri/Sat sound like.

@_DCReeves: Reason for the #Alabama Sunday TBA is a bicep issue for usual Sunday starter Jon Keller. Status, start or relief, still up in air for wknd.
