Two games against Alcorn State, tonight and tomorrow, before hitting the road again.

First pitch is at 6:05.

I went to my first game of the season on Saturday. Really nice win. Great pitching and fielding. Even the one error was Mikey attempting to make a spectacular play.

The major issue I saw was base running. We had 4 runners gunned down 3 of which were at home. Has this been a problem all season or was it an anomaly?

Is he the 3rd base coach?

No, he's the hitting coach who had zero experience prior to Gaspard throwing his good buddy a bone. He did have a cup of coffee in the majors though and hit 20 bombs with loaded bats in 98' with Alabama, so you know that makes him qualified. He took over for the guy who is now our pitching coach.

Imagine Kirby Smart leaving to go somewhere else, Doug Nussmeier replacing him, and Saban hiring Jay Barker to run the offense.

This is Alabama baseball.

I wouldn't complain about mid-week wins. We couldn't win them consistently last year. We have already reached 21 wins this year. The grand total of last year.

Oh, I know who he is. We went to rival high schools and I played against him in football and summer baseball. He had the reputation of being...confident.

Not complaining about winning, just would like to see more consistency from the offense. If we win one game this weekend we match last seasons sec win total. I know it would help to win them all, but it would be good if we could take the ole miss and or the state series.

Somebody talk to me about Wade Wass.

IIRC, he came in as a pinch hitter in one game and has not played again since. Did he get reinjured? Is he expected to return at some point this season? TIA

He is out for the season and will take a red shirt for this year.I am not sure what he injured but from what I have heard it happened in the game he pinch hit in.

Justin Kamplain will start in the Saturday game this weekend and Jon Keller will move to the bullpen.

As capstone said our win yesterday matched last seasons total wins. Well we beat Alcorn 7-3 tonight, surpassing last year win total

Interesting development moving Keller out of the rotation

ETA: Especially if Kamplain is really going to get the start, he hadn't started a game all year

It could be a match-up scenario with what he'll face against Ole Miss this weekend.

Well Gaspard said he is going to and I think it is a good move.He is a starting pitcher and I could tell that the bullpen was not his thing.

I have seen all but 1 game this year and overall I have been pleased with base running.Salem and Roberts can steal a lot of bases and Mikey White has good speed as well.
