You really this sensitive a dude that you need to react this way? No where did I even imply that you so much as mentioned 83 mph. It was an extreme example to illustrate a point that velocity does matter.
You are disingenuous and now gaslighting to distract getting called out

The fact that you reacted this way tells me that you aren't much more than some guy who played a little high school ball and thinks if he hadn't been overlooked, cheated or whatever that you coulda, shoulda gone somewhere.
I played baseball at Bama

I mean your take on Justin Lebron's swing was pure comedic gold. Dude is going to be a first round draft pick who led our team with 18 homers over a 60 game season. But, hey, you and your pitcher are going to shut him down.
Again you are lying. I didnt criticize his swing. You are too ignorant of baseball that you cant distinguish between the mechanics of a swing and an approach/timing issue. One can be insanely talented and still have timing issues to work out. Anyone who has watched Bama baseball this year and has more than a skin deep understanding of baseball understood what I was saying.
quote:
Here is a little tidbit of baseball knowledge for you. 100% of batters have a hole in their swing. If you can successfully throw it in the hole, you may well get them out. After all, you've got 7 guys behind you. But even MLB pitchers miss their spots 60-75% of the time. If that's the case, you better have some velo to go with it

No you didn't. You're a sensitive little Nelly, who can't have basic baseball conversations without flying off the handle. I know when a guy hasn't played higher level ball, and that's you. They talk a big game, and when someone shares a different take they start calling someone else stupid and such.
Sigh.
quote:
Lebron has great hands...but hes not that hard to pitch to. I was a catcher and loved calling pitches. Guys like lebron, just throw a changeup or slow breaking pitch inside, they will pull it foul every time. Go outside with low slider. Easy 0-2 count
Sigh.

This whole thing stems from Scotty saying he would take a guy that throws 88-90 with a 3-4 ERA and you, out of the blue, saying 83 is not going to be successful.
You just have a hard time interpreting basic English and it’s hard to have a dialogue with you.

Exactly. No where did I ever say that its not better to have higher velocity all else being the same. my whole point is that there may be some value out there in these guys throwing 88-90 that are strike throwers with good stuff. When I was on the team at Bama...we had maybe 2-3 guys throwing 90+. Im in my 30s...it wasnt that long ago. The bats were hotter then too.
As for the Lebron thing, only a simpleton would take that as me hating on him or saying hes a bad players. He has an amazing swing fantastic contact, hence why pitchers MUST take a big chance throwing a change inside to draw foul balls. Apparently that lady doesnt realize that drawing hard hit foul balls is a purposeful way to get great hitters down in counts sometimes.

Right...we totally didnt have a crummy old leather couch and ancient big box tv in the locker room. Coach Wells most definitely didnt make me run 27 poles one day after practice...and Ginger totally didnt have to work on me every day due to recurring quad pull and we totally didnt have a (lovable)jackass assistant who was a stood behind the turtle during BP roasting everybody and told stories wild stories about his Hawaii trips....also a huge yankee fan(gross). Coach Wells most certainly never left practice early to go turkey hunting

I’m sure he’d rather have rather game W but hats off to Carson. What an addition he was this year.

New @HailStateBB skipper Brian O’Connor will make an average of 2.9 million a year. O’Connor is now the second highest paid coach in college baseball, only behind Tony Vitello.

Louisville has scored 7 runs through 2.1 innings on that freshman that we couldn’t do squat against.
They got in his head and he’s imploded. We couldn’t do it. He likely won’t make it out of this inning.
