Sure and 1, 2 and 3 seeds should be able to rest several starters in the basketball tournament. Yet none do, and for good reason. The disparity between teams and players is not as great as people might think. The great players still have to play.
USM might not start their ace. Hey I hope they dont. If they are that stupid they will doubly deserve any loss that they take. They aren’t LSU or Tennessee. They are the lowest 1 seed and we are probably the best team in the bracket. Chances are real good that they would drop into the losers bracket and have to try to fight their way out. Underestimate a team and you will find out what happens. Arrogance is a killer.

No. 2 seed Alabama baseball is prepared to begin its 2025 NCAA Tournament run starting Friday, May 30, when the Crimson Tide takes on No. 3 seed Miami at Pete Taylor Park. Alabama is 60-39 all-time in Regional play, including a 4-6 record against the Hurricanes in postseason/neutral site contests.

Last I heard they were doing just that - saving Middleton. Their coach had best pray they don’t lose to Columbia. The second guessing will be brutal.
