Yes, I'm sorry. I am slipping in my old age. It is Zane ADAMS who was the Friday night guy and who was pitching well until he had a couple of games in which he got knocked around a bit.
He certainly could lock down the third game. Or he could go against the other squad's ace on Fridays. It is a tough decision to make.
Do you know if he got injured and push down the rotation for rest, or if something else is in the minds of the coaching staff?

I think it was a variety of factors. Zane struggled in back to back outings. Riley was getting healthy (from the finger issue). Bobby was also struggling since the gem at A&M. The staff also either saw something in Tyler that they really liked, or just wanted to take a chance on someone else starting in the weekend rotation.
Back to back Thursday- Saturday series offered a chance to flip the rotation, insert Tyler and give Zane a chance to reset. I’m guessing (just a guess) that Riley will be Friday moving forward, Zane will be Saturday and Tyler will be Sunday.
We’ll find out soon enough.

I know I keep harping on it but I wish we could pack the the Joe against UGA. The team deserves the support and we need Vaughn to feel like he can build something here . O excuses for the sparse crowds we have had IMO. Wished they had designed seats closer to the plate instead of that brick wall

My biggest gripe about the new field. I don't understand it. Whenever I watch other teams and their fans are right behind the plate it makes me feel that they are into the game more. I don't know what to tell you on the fan support though. We are not even good frontrunners when it comes to that. Maybe everyone that has followed the team over the years believes we will eventually fall off even when things look promising early in the season. There is no reason that the town itself cannot support this program. It's not like Tuscaloosa is a tiny town and relies on Birmingham to support the programs.

When they did the renovation, they didn’t tear down the grand stand - just everything around it. And then built the new facade around it (and slightly shifted the field as I recall - maybe 5 degrees). While I love having the Joe at Coleman, you may recall some fans were pulling for a new stadium on or near the river. It’s pretty much land locked where it is today. Without demoing the grandstand, I don’t think they could have brought seats down to field level. With the current college landscape, I’m pretty sure I’ll never see another baseball stadium renovation in my lifetime.
In terms of attendance, I have no answers either. Fans have opportunities to interact with the players more than any other sport. The team is having a great season.
Sadly, the students will be gone for the last home series vs UGA so I’m not optimistic about attendance for that one either.

Does 40 wins get Alabama a home regional?

I would hope so. Right now we’re on the fringe. Two of our remaining conference series are against teams currently projected higher than us - if the wins come there, I’d think that would bolster the chances. We also have Troy (on the road) next week. The opportunity is there.
