Almost collapsed but we held on to win, 9-7.

Bullpen fell apart in the last 2 innings.

Beautiful day at the Joe. Lebron with a grand slam and Jason Torres with his 3rd home run in as many games. Pitching was much better today too. Two tough midweeks this week - at Jacksonville State Tuesday and home against Troy Wednesday.
quote:

Alabama baseball earned the series sweep over North Dakota State on Sunday, as a seven-run second inning propelled the Crimson Tide to an 11-3 victory at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The win improves Alabama to 12-0 to start the new season.

Justin Lebron finished 1-for-4, though his lone hit was a grand slam as part of the Tide's second-inning outburst. The sophomore added a sacrifice fly to his ledger, closing the day with a team-high five RBI. Coleman Mizell managed a 3-for-5 day with one RBI, while Richie Bonomolo Jr. was 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Jason Torres closed 1-for-4 with a solo homer, his third home run in as many days, with Kade Snell adding a perfect 2-for-2 line with two walks to UA's offensive performance.

Bobby Alcock (2-0) made his third start of the spring, limiting the Bison to just two runs on four hits. The redshirt senior collected seven strikeouts while walking just one over his 4.0 innings. Austin Morris, Tyler Fay and Coulson Buchanan combined to allow just one unearned run out of the Alabama bullpen, as the trio of relievers collectively tossed five scoreless frames, highlighted by Buchanan striking out the side in the final inning.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"I really challenged the guys yesterday after the game, and I thought that they responded. We had a lot more urgency to the game today, and our focus was really good. Obviously, a big second inning there and we had some lulls in the middle innings - not from anything happening in the box, but we just shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times with a few baserunning blunders that we need to clean up. I loved the way we swung the bat and piled on late, and the way we threw the ball was great, too. Bobby Alcock gave us a good start and I thought that Austin Morris, Tyler Fay and Coulson Buchanan were great, too, so it was a good way to finish the weekend.

Interested to see how Finateri does. Thought he would be a front end of rotation guy when he transferred.
