I wouldn't say Slade has been a bust, but Billingsly has certainly stolen some of his looks. He adds a scary new wrinkle to the Bama offense.

Makes you wonder what might've been... Could you imagine a DC trying to plan for Smitty, Waddle, Najee, and a beast h-back/TE hybrid? Good Lord.

We need to force feed Billingsley. He has good hand and can run. Give him the ball more.

No doubt. Billingsley is a stud. Metchie and Slade were not great last night. We also didn't target Forristall much.

Metchie dropped two. both would have been great catches but the ball hit the hands.

To be fair, Metchie was being tackled before and as the ball arrived on that crossing route drop. PI should've been called.

Besides the game Waddle went down (which he had drops btw) when has Slade been great?

Honestly he can't complain, things lined up for him and he isn't making the situation his own.

Next year the likes of Leary and Worthy aren't going to suffer him... if they learn the plays they will hop right over him.

I will say this... we need to get TEs more involved... make offense little more balanced. Forstill and Billingsley can make plays.

Slade has been missing in action for the last few weeks. At some point, when will we see Baker getting some looks? Holden?

Billingsley is comparable to OJ Howard.
Good size, great hands, runs like a deer, another playmaker we needed with Waddle out.

Would that explain why he's not catching balls and fumbling the ball?

Agreed but Metchie and everyone will need to up their game when we play Florida. They will score points and it could be a track meet.

With Sting and RicksPosted on 12/4/20 at 11:24 am
up vote8down vote24

I feel like we can compete. Our pass rush has been very good. The question mark will be our linebackers not blowing coverages against an especially good pass-catching back in Harris. Unfortunately Alabama’s defense has been playing very well as of late so I don’t see how we win even if we hold Bama to less than 30. We need to use RPOs and short throws heavily for Finley. Finley took so many deep shots against ATM that had no chance of getting completed

I agree with you to an extent...

I think Ricks and Stingley will be fine, so long as we have at least 1 deep safety back there. Where I am worried is their running game vs our D-Line and LBs. We have been much better with Baskerville in, but still this will be by far the biggest test for them to date. If they just go ground and pound all game, like I expect them to, our defense will get absolutely gassed (assuming no help from the offense) and thats when they hit the deep shots and open the game up.

If however, our D-Line and LBs play out of this world, maybe force some TFLs and put Bama behind the chains, that's where we can compete. Ultimately I think we lose just because we won't be able to score points, but there is a path to make this a competitive game.
