I like the effort and attitude of Jemison. He had a good steal down the stretch when SC had cut it to 8.

Question for the board: do we get more out of Jemison than we would have got from Jarin?

Im hoping Jemison sticks around and goes on a Herb style trajectory.

I think Jemison is giving us more than Stevenson because he is actually physical enough to be a stretch 4.

I think Jemison has a higher ceiling because of his athleticism. Dude can guard all 5 positions, shoot, has a decent handle...etc. I think we should try running some of backdoor lobs we drew up for Bed to Jem and TBB. They both can get up there. TBB had a goaltending a few weeks back where his hand was 2/3s up the backboard.

Jemison is producing the same as Stevenson on fewer minutes, so I'd say for this season it's probably a push. He will be a significantly better player than Stevenson ever has been next year though. Keeping him should be a priority this offseason. Especially if Allen stays in the draft.

head to head 8-4 teams/seeds as of now.

3rd vandy 2-0
4th Ken 2-2 (UK with 2 wins over UT)
5th Tenn 2-2
6th Ala 1-2

So yes, Ala winning Wed would be huge.

If we beat Ark, ark would be 2-2 with the above group and they'd be below us.

Jemison is so athletic that's why is upside is huge. Things just need to slow down for him on offense. He rushes it when there's pressure. I have high hopes with him.

Retaining Jemison, Sherrell, and Holloway is a must. I’m hoping Bristow, Hannah, and Onyejiaka are not portal bound “medical issues” because I think we have the bodies to actually be a good defensive unit in 26-27.

Midweek games:
We need Mizzu to beat Vandy Wed. I don't see Tenn losing to Okla or Kentucky losing to UGA, both being at home.

Sat
Tenn/Vandy, Miz/Ark and Ken @ Auburn. Could be a big day moving up if we can win 2 next week as at least 2 teams beside us will lose for certain.

I’m not the best person to ask because I was Jarin’s biggest defender and thought he was unfairly criticized and did a lot of things that casuals didn’t get.

I’d personally rather have Jarin THIS YEAR because he’s bigger, better shooter, and an upper classmen.

I like London though. And I guess ultimately I really want the guys who want to be here. London picked Bama. Jarin picked to transfer.

He's certainly the more experienced player, but I'd say Jemison plays a lot bigger and is a significantly better shooter. Stevenson is just a guard in a big's body who wants to corner camp even though he's just a career 30% shooter.

Jemison seems like Herb Jones to me, almost the exact same size. Herb was a million miles from good on offense his freshmen year. Jemison’s #’s are probably better.

His average was pulled down by an abnormal cold streak to begin last year. He ended up heating up down the stretch.

Idk, I can’t really base it off much more than “vibes” but I generally felt better when Jarin had a clean look.

I say that acknowledging I was a Jarin mark the way I’m a Bethea mark this year so I’ll recuse myself

I think oats needs to play Bethea because we need him, he’s so athletic too.

He drives me mad, but I think it’s a chance we need to take.

Maybe not start this plan on Wednesday though haha

Bethea gotta play because we don’t have enough bodies to not play him.

Agreed but after Wednesday lets hit it hard. Oats likes playing 3 guards. Bethea has got to avoid turnovers and play solid defense. We need to use his legs especially down the stretch and into SEC tourney play.

Is Bristow done for the year?

Bethea was electric in his minutes and was playing hard on D. Oats has been complementing him lately. 6 points in 6 mins on 50% shooting is pretty damn good and he’s mostly been very efficient scoring like that all year.

I do think he’ll get more run down the stretch. It seems like the ice is starting to defrost for Oats. My wish is that it goes well enough that he stays next year and we get a Biz/Bethea backcourt with Aiden, TBB, London, and the young guys/transfers.

I’ve given up on any dream of getting Allen back another year.

I appreciate Noah’s effort, I really do.

But our guards think it’s cute to try and get him the ball down low. Please stop. Let him rebound and be big.

He’s actually not good at this either. He has bad hands. He can’t seem to catch the ball on rebounds or down low without it getting stolen

Can’t take that from him. I will say he is fairly good at blitzing the ball handler on screens and what not. He solid on perimeter defense and close outs for his size. But yeah that’s pretty much it.
