agree with a few of the above posters. I feel like this offense has hit it's ceiling without a legit BIG MAN. Hell, even as much as Sherrell has improved this year he spends as much time at the top of the key as he does inside.

It's like we play with 4 guards and one center. I don't GAF if a real power forward or legit center can hit a 3. This team needs a Charles Oakley type of inside man that will rebound like a mad man and maul your arse if you come inside HIS paint.

I'm not downing Oats and this team probably over achieved, especially given that we lost 17 ppg when we needed it most. I hope Nate retires here because when 3s are falling and the boys are defending we can beat anybody.

However, when they are not we can lose to anybody because the current structure doesn't give you a backup plan.

Be interesting to see what the roster looks like next year because half of the roster isn't legit SEC caliber players and we all know that.

Roll Tide. It was a damn good year considering what Nate had to work with.

You actually are downing Oats in the sense that Sherrell at the arc for picks, rim runs and no big man camped out in the lane is the crux of his entire offensive philosophy.

When Oats talks about getting bigger, he means Noah Clowney or Grant Nelson types at the 4 (big guy that plays on the perimeter but can rebound on both ends and guard big men). He means another option at center like Bediako/Cliff (who will still stay around the arc for screens and rim runs on offense) and options at the 3 like Brandon Miller or Amari Allen that have enough size when we face teams like Duke and Michigan whose playmakers are 6'7")....

What's not going to happen unless we swap head coaches with Tennessee are bigs posting up and clogging the lane.

It's still going to be "like we play 4 guards" just that a couple of the "guards" will be taller and more physical.

Regardless of the remaining 3 games outcomes. We will have played 3 of the Ginal Four teams this season

Literally every single one of those offensive and defensive per game metrics are completely skewed and useless. We are one of the top tempo teams every single year. You can’t use “choose your metric / per game” to measure our efficiency of anything offensive or defensive.

Our defensive efficiency metrics around rebounds, forced TOs/steals, points per possession, etc. are all underwhelming. That table was the very definition of the classic statement “There’s lies…damn lies…and statistics.” Those stats lied like a politician on stage.

I got frustrated watching that Michigan game. Even though the shots didnt fall in the first half that well we had them playing our pace. They were sucking eggs, Mara couldnt stay on the floor.

Second half, we shoot even worse. A decent shooting game and we could play with them. Force them to play our pace and by games end it might have gotten interesting.

Wouldn't shock me if we could be up with the tightest score line vs Michigan. This wolverine team is on a mission.

Well they definitely paid for the missions success.

Notice the trend of B1G magically taking over the two major sports? What does that coincide with?

That's right our scrappy commissioner laying down for the B1G since we outplayed them during that Covid season.

We have conceded everything for them to take over using the only advantage they ever had on everyone else; billionaires.

The B1G have been the catalyst of player portal, they're the ones who killed the measures in place to keep NIL at bay, they literally did everything to ensure they could outright buy the sports they desire and re-write history as if their return to prominence is due to their will of the greatness of the Midwestern region.

I'm not sure I would have been happy to make the Elite 8 only to lose the way Duke just did. That would be hard to swallow a defeat like that.

The Dook loss was akin to the Bama loss to AU with Scam Newton playing QB

That loss was more akin to Tua to Smitty than anything else.

Amazing comeback. UConn got down 20 and never blinked. Just kept running their stuff. Hurley is the best coach in the country right now.

I dont know how open they were. The first two of our second half shots were blocked. Other than Philon, none can shoot a three if they have to shoot off any movement. They need an open catch and shoot. Michigan is dang good though. They can shoot the 3, or post you up with that big center.
Ran Tudorsee out of the gym before half time.
