One turnover was a ST play. The other was the one time they threw the ball over the middle. They literally never tried it again.
On the FGs, I clearly stated that we made some stops early once they got to the red zone. Play by play says one of the two was a 3 and kick. The other they got a 26 yard pass on a rollout pass to the right to a TE that put them in fg position. They played conservatively because they could once in FG range.
One punt was caused when the UT OL melted down and had 3 false starts and still ended up with 4th and short. Another came after the reverse that lost 10 yards. It was a decent play by our defense, but it’s the same thing we crucify Grubb for. When UT lined up and wanted to run the ball, they could. They also spammed three pass plays for the last half.
After we scored our lone TD, the D immediately gave up a 12 play drive.
I get you are married to the idea that they played well enough. Have that opinion. I have no interest in a petty fight with another Bama fan, but I disagree.
ETA: Let me say it like this. The UT D controlled that game and was one of the reasons they won. Our D while decent, isn’t good enough to do that. It’s not that they suck. They are just OK. We got out-coached on both sides of the ball.

People blaming the defense for either loss need to find another brain cell to rub together with the one they are using to type.

Their offense controlled the ball in the 2nd half. Nearly 36 minutes total for the game. 20 more plays than BAMA's. Their defense got A LOT of help by their offense.

FOUR starters played the final 7 plays of UT’s TD to run out the clock.
Pruitt had an offense that would take 7 minute off the clock running the ball up opponents asses even when they didn’t get points.
What happened to Pruitt’s 2016 defense when they had to defend the last 20 plays vs Clemson bc the offense could only produce 4 1st downs the entire 2nd half…..they gave up 500 yards and 40 points.
You can’t defend that many snaps with your own offense letting them start FOUR times inside your own 37 yard line and still shut them out (or whatever point total you think is acceptable).
Not to mention how they lead the SEC in forcing turnovers, but they let Georgia score 20 (QB Reese intercepted that pass btw), and UT scored twice today so CLEARLY the defense is WEAK SOFT and do t play hard in your opinion.

Well that was kind of my greater argument. Our D wasn’t good enough to get off the field.
