Buddy, you do realize that he was WIDE OPEN?
Playing conservative gets you beat!
What happened versus Mississippi State down the stretch concerning Chris Youngblood?
In Katt Williams voice..."Don't Worry I'll Wait"

So is Jimmy Dykes basically the de facto color guy for any Arkansas home game on ESPN because he lives there? My god it gets fricking tedious hearing him spend 2-2.5 hours glazing all things Arkansas basketball and talking up Bud Walton like it's fricking MSG.
Also, frick Auburn.
Also, frick Auburn.

Obviously, both teams are going to be motivated for the Bama-Auburn game. That doesn't mean we want them to have even more motivation because their super bowl took the number 1 ranking from them. Auburn likes nothing more than being little brother.

If you're scared, just say you're scared.

How crazy is it going to be to have the biggest regular season basketball game in a LONG time in Tuscaloosa?
This is literally bigger than Duke NC. It’s going to be #1 vs #2

I just want Duke to be properly punished for Not playing a ranked team since the SEC ACC Challenge
The ACC is so bad this year. I honestly don't even know what to think of Duke. Flagg is obviously incredible, they looked really good OOC, and their efficiency metrics are elite, but they're going to go into the postseason having faced like 3 tournament caliber opponents in their previous ~25 games. Wouldn't be surprised to see them upset early.

Have to believe that UF jumps Duke and Houston. Houston didn't lose but beat two very lackluster teams.
It's quite possible the rankings on Monday are 1-4 all Sec

You do realize that there is such a thing as situational basketball? He shot 2 off balance 3’s with over 15 seconds left on the shot clock under 2 minutes. The team was intentionally draining clock.
Had we simply let the clock expire the FT he missed at the end would have never taken place because the game would have been over!

Sure hope the team isn't overlooking Texas the way everyone here seems to be. Tuesday game after a late night Saturday game on the road without coming back home in between. Screams for a letdown game if they aren't locked in.

Best to recognize the root of these back and forth arguments is simply that Oats has a very nontraditional approach to "situational basketball"
Oats believes in running the offense normally for as long as possible and that's to try to score quickly if a good opportunity is there.
Not that he doesn't change things at all late in games: you see him coaching to get the ball into veteran hands if we didn't get a good shot quickly down the stretch, just for example.
However, the situational basketball where you start running clock at 2 or 3 minutes is something Oats seems to squeeze down to the final minute.
It's also why you have some fans saying "hold for the last shot of the half" at the games but a lot of others saying "push it". They've seen what Oats does about the differing percentages of when we get good, in rhythm shots.

I hear you but I think we play better on road.

Thoughts on giving the hard hat to someone who had 6 TO's. Sears had 6 last game too.
Oats announced that they were going to focus on TO's during practice during the off weak. Had 9 TO's in the first half. 14 for the game so it got better in the second half.

The hard hat goes to the player that makes the most winning hustle based plays. Seems Sears did that and it's particularly encouraging that he did it when he was not playing all that well offensively.
I think that's exactly what the hard hat concept is for.
That said, Sears does need to also make some better decisions driving the ball into traffic.

There is a point system in place for the Hard Hat award, it's not arbitrary.

I think Dioubate deserved the hard hat but Oats gave it to Sears to boost his confidence. He knows Sears is an important piece and trying to motivate him to play to his peak. But no Sears didn’t deserve it. His turnovers and defensive lapses are back breaking.

My thoughts exactly. When you commit silly TO's you then put your D in a position to work harder to keep them from scoring. TO's and poor FT shooting will cost this team a W in a close game down the road. Consider being a 1 seek and losing in the round of 8 to another good team due to poor FT shooting and double digit TO's. And if the outside shots are not going down it could be another huge L. I understand a fast pace causes TO's but lazy passes and trying to dribble around the bigs and then leaving your feet to throw to someone is not a good look. But again I am commenting from my couch.
