I don't think KC Concepcion is gonna be at Bama.
I think they got the information they wanted on his visit and moved forward to acquire Isaiah Horton.
Be it money or timing, I think they chose to be proactive rather than potentially be left at the altar.

Horton makes more sense anyway. We have plenty of smaller, agile guys who can play in the slot, but DeBoer seems to value a bigger catch radius for his outside guys and we don't have a lot of that.

The OL player from Washington that had been mentioned as a potential transfer to us; is he projected to play OT or OG? If OG, then we may not take another.

I agree.
I think a healthy KC Concepcion might be the better player and would have been a neat luxury, but Horton feels like a better fit for what Bama doesn't have.

He played LT for UW this past season.
Everything I've read on him, Kahlee Tafai, is that he's a long term project. He switched to OT his senior year of HS, formerly a DT. UW's OL coach said recently that he was playing well above his listed weight and wanted him lighter.
He started the last 4 games at LT after the top 2 LTs were injured. Unfortunately, that slew of starts included the game against Oregon where the OL gave up 10 sacks.
I think as a depth piece, he's a decent take. Seems like that's how they've been treating the portal anyway, filling in the roster gaps rather than trying to grab every player possible. I think it shows a lot more trust in your own roster and evaluations.
