Carl Tucker will use one of our 27 signing spots, so there'll be only one left unused. We'll need 10 departures (graduations and transfers) to make room for 13 new summer enrollees (including Tucker) within the 85 limit: Roster/Depth

When the dust settles and if we find ourselves with a few extra unsigned LOIs, I sure hope we invest in some strategic picks in the transfer portal. This day and age with the quality and quantity of elite players who want to be beamed up elsewhere, we would be remiss and derelict in our responsibilities to not give the guys a good look-see. These days there is no reason for any position to be left wanting. Not if you know ahead of time.

Can someone explain to me how we have more commits than UGA at 26 to 25 and a higher per player average at 93.41 to their 92.96 and still be 3 points behind them in the points? That mathematically doesn't make sense.

The dust has pretty much settled. We only have one unused siging limit spot. It can be used to sign a transfer or 2021-cycle early enrollee.

Only HS recruits and incoming Juco transers are included in the class scoring. Excluding Tucker, and including Jayson Jones, right now we have 26 commits. Jones is expected to flip to Oregon.

Looks like Jahmyr Gibbs signed with GT. Good luck to him, really like him as a player.

Let me clarify. I understand who counts towards the class rankings. I don't understand how we can have higher rated players on average and more of them and still have a lower rated class.

Edit:We have better players committed. We have more players committed. Our class is 2nd to theirs. Does not compute.

I agree that it doesn't make sense. This explains it: 247Sports Rating Explanation

A poster with the handle UglyAg on RBR explained it like this:
quote:

The way they work their formula, the top recruit is worth full "points", the second is worth most of his "points", the third is worth slightly fewer, and so on, until the lowest ranked recruits barely affect anything at all. It rewards teams that have better top end recruits than a better average, though it is not usually noticeable like this.

Let this sink in...everyone talked about Clemson's class potentially being the best on paper in history. Once Jayson Jones signs with Oregon we will have a higher average per recruit than them.

I don't give a shite where we ended in the rankings as long as our boys win on the field.

That will work. Boobie Whitlow just entered the portal. I kid.

‘It’s all about brand building’: McKinnley Jackson picks Texas A&M over Alabama

quote:

Jackson said the deciding factor for him to choose Texas A&M over second-place Alabama had little to do with football.

“They’re both in the SEC so they’re both going to play great football,” Jackson said. “It wasn’t about the coaches, because I know coaches can come and go. It was about what Texas A&M can do for me as a person and beyond football. It’s all about brand building.”

We may have dodged a bullet on this one.

I'm not concerned about kids who pass on an opportunity to play at The Capstone. Bama ain't for everyone.

Brand building? WTF?! See this is why Saban said what he said about Bryce Young and his family. This is also why Saban has been complimentary of Tua's family. I also have a cousin who played for Saban at LSU and I know good and damn well they weren't talking about "brand building."

Surge thanks for all you do. What am i missing I counted 93 players listed on your roster page, which I think includes all the new signees, etc. So I come up with 8 departerures needed, and you said 10?
