Hope McKinnley Jackson dosen't get swayed by LSU and stays on track to sign with Bama.

His LSU OV didnt move the needle. It's still Bama #1, A&M #2, LSU #3.

Per Hank's latest update LSU is 3rd after this weekend behind Bama and A&M
Bama 50/50 for Alfred Collins, but then says that usually means "home team had the edge" (also known as he's going to Texas but we tried hard)

Good news on Jackson. As for Collins, his talent will go to waste at UT Austin and we'll likely never play against him in a game. It's his home state so I understand that.

What about Javon Baker ? Is he going to flip ? I've heard he and Burroughs have grade problems.

Two Bama commits, Javon Baker and Jamil Burroughs, continue to have work to do in the classroom. It’s going to be close and a situation we’re tracking up to Feb. 5. Burroughs was on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit and continues to reaffirm his recruitment is closed. Baker was at Arkansas, and has plans to see Georgia Tech, and possibly Texas, next week before National Signing Day.
George signed (unnannounced) in Dec. and it appears we still have 5 more unused signing limit spots -- enough for all but one of Baker, Burroughs, Jackson, Rakestraw, Tucker and Collins. However, since we now have 82 total counters enrolled, we'll need 6 more departures to fit the 9 early signees set to enroll in late May to early June within the 85 total counters limit, plus up to 5 more departures for Feb (or later) signees to enroll for summer or fall and fit within the 85 limit.

Not sure I would risk their spots if they can't qualify. This isn't 2008 where we absolutely have to take the risk.
Posted on 1/26/20 at 10:22 pm to bamatide07
Bama won't take a big risk of tying a signing spot to a nonqualifier whereby it can only be used to take that non-qualifier after he graduates from juco. If Bama isn't highly confident they'll qualify, they wont get NLIs to sign. Instead, Bama will save spots for them to sign an aid agreement after they've qualified. That's what Bama did with Nadab Joseph and Jordan Davis. Joseph flipped, signed with UGA and then failed to qualify. Davis failed to qualify and ended up elsewhere after Juco. Bama protected those signing spots to use for other recruits.

Baker taking visits this late to lesser programs tells me he has been told to shop. I don’t expect him or Jones in the class.
I suspect we will close with Jackson and Rackestraw. Add Burroughs if we feel good about his grades. I’d be nice to snag a surprise like Collins or Van Pran but not expecting it.

Its sounding pretty likely Bama might land and take Carl Tucker too.

Great. I think he makes our offense a lot more dynamic. A 260 pound guy who can move. Thats the difference wbetween him and Billingsly and Forristall. Billingsly not physically ready and I think Forristall doesnt have the movement he once did.

We might have a few guys who still stay, but won't be on scholarship. I imagine Ben Davis would be one of them.

247Sports Composite adds seven 5-stars
quote:
The final 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2020 class will begin to take shape with the release of 247Sports' final Top247 of the cycle on Tuesday of this week.
Many of the final rankings from the recruiting industry that combine to form the 247Sports Composite were released last week and when factored into the industry-generated ranking, made for a few interesting and dramatic moves.
The top of the ranking is unchanged with Clemson signee Bryan Bresee holding down the top spot, but up from No. 6 and into the No. 2 overall spot is future Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. Both prospects – along with future Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei – remain candidates for the top spot in the final Top247.
The 247Sports Composite five-star range grew to 32 total prospects and seven players added a fifth star, each headed to a different school. Florida (DT Gervon Dexter), Georgia (DT Jalen Carter), Texas A&M (S Jaylon Jones), Oregon (CB Dontae Manning), LSU (WR Kayshon Boutte), Ohio State (WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba) and Alabama (DE Will Anderson) added five-stars to their respective recruiting classes.
The question now is who will keep 247Sports Composite five-star status after final 247Sports rankings are released and will others be added? Tuesday’s release of the final Top247 will lock in the 247Sports Composite for the class.
Three prospects – RB Tank Bigsby (Auburn), CB Fred Davis II (Clemson), RB Chris Tyree (Notre Dame) – fell out of the 247Sports Composite five-star range. Three former three-star prospects – LB Jakivuan Brown (Ole Miss), DT Clyde Pinder Jr. (North Carolina), WR Logan Loya (UCLA) – moved up into the four-star range.
Below is a complete breakdown of the bigger moves following last week’s updates. You can track more of the final adjustments to the 247Sports Composite beginning with the release of the final Top247 on Tuesday.

Clemson landed the #1 player overall in the 2021 Class last night, DE Korey Foreman from California.
They also landed the #34 player overall yesterday, WR Beaux Collins from California.
Dabo doing fricking work.

2020 4-Star defensive end, Alfred Collins, remains one of the Crimson Tide’s top targets in the 2020 recruiting class as National Signing Day gets closer.
The 4-Star defensive end released his final three schools on Sunday via Twitter and Alabama looks to be right in the mix for his signature.
Collins will choose between Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma on Feb. 5 from Cedar Creek High School.
