Man we missed out on the Sewell brothers. Thought Tosh had him in the bag and we were the favorite but then it all fell away. Big miss.

If I recall correctly, we could've had Penei Sewell but backed off late on him due to needing and holding spots for ILBs Peterson and Walker. Then when Pruitt left, we lost out on both of the ILBs. We could've also had ILB Kaho, but backed off and he signed with UW. Saban wasn't expecting to lose Pruitt when the decisions were made to close on ILBs Peterson and Walker. We ended up taking Moody and then adding Kaho in August.

I think you are right Surge ,my guess is we lost him because we waffled regarding his commitment. He just took the sure thing. I remember his family loved Alabama and Saban.

Thought he was more of a LB coach. Thanks for correction.

He was that as well, after he was promoted to DC. I think Saban usually requires his DCs to be the ILB coach as well; I assume this is because the defensive play calls are made from that position. But Smart got his start with DBs, kinda like Saban did...

Kirby was a pretty good DB himself back in the day; 1st team All-SEC his senior year...

Who is the receiver to watch for to contribute in 2020 from our 2020 class?

There were some good ILB coaches that synced up with Smart's stay at Bama, Kevin Steele and James Willis.

There was some ballyhoo of him moving back to ILBs when Bama got Greg Brown(suppose to be a DB expert). LBs were really pumped to get coached positionally by Smart again.

Think he might've actually been better as an ILB Coach, but he's no slouch as DBs either.

I still think Saban is trying to mold Golding in the same way(Golding was a DB and DB Coach too), but it's not going as smooth...

Yep and Bama ended up have 4 spots open in that class. Bama even let Michael Parker sign on signing day instead of greyshirting.

Thaiu Jones-Bell is very good -- similar to smaller quick-twitch speedsters like Ridley, Jeudy, Smitty, etc. Traeshon Holden is a pretty dang good tall WR -- underrated, imo.

4* WR Xzavier Henderson 6-3.5/180 FL hudl UF

Announced commitment to UF at All America Bowl, as expected. Pretty similar WR to Traeshon Holden. I removed him from the 2nd post. Btw, in case anyone wants to reference them later, I stash removed players' lines in the last post on the first page.

I dont think we will see any of the WR play outside of Jones maybe. Next year we just need guys to step up.

Idk if this has been discussed but I was really impressed with Bryce youngs performance today. He showed some excellent leadership qualities before the plays getting everybody set and looked like he had been playing with those guys for years. Its hard to get that type of chemistry with players you just started practicing with a week ago. We are in good hands at the QB position fellas

And rivals said DJ was the best qb today. No wonder they are the laughing stock in recruiting.

Yea I completely disagree with that. He made a couple of really bad throws. Really should've had 2 interceptions

Alabama commitment Will Anderson is now in the discussion for getting his 5th star. He was perhaps the biggest riser of anyone at the All-American Bowl. He capped off a great week with a 3 tackles (including 2 TFL) sack and a forced fumble in the game today.

They better let him stay lean. I’d say between 250-260lbs

Depending on how many draft eligible juniors and players who have degrees and remaining eligibility end up staying on the roster, we might end up not using all of our signing spots. They can be used later for transfers or 2021 early enrollees.

If we don’t get the tight end we are after, we’ll have to beat the transfer bushes to get one

Maybe, but even if we miss on Frazier we might not absolutely need to take a transfer TE.

2020 Projected Roster
Tight End (6-7)
SR: Forristall*
JR: Tennison*
SO: Billingsley, Latu*, Parker*
FR: Clark, Frazier

We'd be a little thin at TE with Clark rehabbing, but if Latu has good spring and fall camps, we should be a'ight. Parker needs to be a gym rat this off-season and beef up. That said, I do like our chances of getting Frazier if we push. Also, we're in pretty good shape early on with a few good 2021 TE prospects.

Wasnt Smart telling LB recruits that he was responsible for the quantity and quality of LBs at Bama and that Nick didn't work with them...Nick worked with secondary

Any sort of updates on Fraizer? I saw that “undecided” leads at 60%.
