Anderson should be in the 5 star conversation after this week.

247 named Will Anderson Alpha Dog for Day 2 of the Army Bowl practices:

ALPHA DOG: Will Anderson (78)

The business trip for Anderson continued on Wednesday. The Alabama signee was surgical in the way he was dominating and bullying offensive linemen. No one has the edge quickness Anderson has shown. No one has the ability to convert speed to power. It has been borderline uncomfortable watching offensive linemen try to crack the code of defending him in 1on1s. There is a cold, almost mechanical focus to his approach this week and it is producing eye-popping results.

Sounds like Anderson might move into the Top 20-25.

More importantly it sounds like Anderson is a frickin manchild.

No. 1 Bryce Young -- Young has been nearly flawless through two days of practice. He was the top quarterback on the West on Tuesday and was locked in during the Wednesday joint practice. We didn’t see Young have an errant throw during the session. Most, if not all, of his incompletions were on target and the result of strong coverage. Young dropped the ball in a shoebox on multiple occasions. His ball placement to all levels of the field is the best in this cycle and it showed during the joint practice. At one point, Young made several consecutive incredible throws. He also showed off his quick processor in flying through progressions in 7-on-7 in the afternoon. The game moves in slow motion for the Alabama signee.

They can rank Anderson wherever they want. He’s a top 10 player in this class regardless of what a website says, and he’s suiting up for us next year.

I think the recruiting guys know this, but to put him top 10 at this point is an indictment of their own ability. Kid had 22 sacks this year, that’s absurd at any level. I expect he’ll finish at the back end of the 5 star range, but he’s clearly a top 10 player in the country

I think a lot of his ranking is the result of being a tweener and kind of a niche player. He's too small to be a full time DE and he isn't a coverage guy, so he is basically a 3-4 OLB. He has been compared to Tim Williams, who also fit that mold. I think the fact that he has 34 inch arms will end up doing as much for his final ranking as his actual performance. That gives him the length to properly engage edge blockers in run defense, which means he could be an every down guy and not just a pass rush specialist.

At 230 lbs, he's gonna need some good muscle weight to become an every down OLB, but if there's anything our staff can do, it's add weight.

Dude is gonna be a baller. This LB class is off the charts good.

And every one of our upper end kids seems to be earning rave reviews and are seemingly underrated (even as they are highly rated).

Really excited about this group
