gonna have to excuse my greed here, and I certainly hope we land Jase, but that doesn't translate to a "bunch" to me

Well your stupid definition isn’t reality so I guess you’re going to have to deal with it. I’m sure it was a bunch of great news to the staff, you know, which he’s part of.

Do people seriously still have no clue what Burch is doing?

That is nuts.

Ever seen that happen? I haven't. Usually, it's the other way around and the school is left holding the bag with holes at positions. It would be an interesting conundrum.

How does Bama, or any other schools, juggle the number of signees with players who haven't declared for the draft yet?
What if 6 or so players you expect to go pro, elect to stay?

My guess is that barring a last minute surprise, the staff has a really good idea of who is returning. For example, with us striking out on Jarrett and perhaps Arian Smith as well, the only thing that makes sense is that at least one of (and perhaps both) Smitty and Ruggs will be returning for their senior seasons.

I don't define what "a bunch" means. It's typically more than 1. The tweet came after the Cohen commitment, so pardon me for expecting that to mean more than 1 more commitment was going to happen. frick off

The shitty thing about that is everybody can say, "Yeah, I'm coming back next year" today, then change their mind between now and mid January and the staff has to scramble to try and shore up positions with little time and few candidates left.

Burch reminds me a lot of Hand several years back. No one knows. Everyone is guessing. Hopefully it turns out the same.

Serious question because I didn’t see the tweet. Did he say we have a bunch of great news coming or a bunch of great commits coming? Because a bunch of great news could mean one person.

I guess I’m just thinking of it in how people talk. I say I have a lot of great news when I mean just one thing

I may be wrong because I don't follow these things as closely as I used to (life and all), but I didn't think that the returning numbers had any impact on the amount of guys we could take in the class.

I.e., if you could sign 25, you could sign 25, and that's it.

If you signed 25 and lost 23 off the previous year's team, you oversigned by 2 and were going to have to force some attrition.

If you signed 25 but lost 27 off the previous year's team, well then tough luck, you've got 2 extra scholarships to give to walk-ons.

Am I incorrect?
